I am from Latvia and I am proud of our old ways and customs. I am proud of these fearless ladies that honour our pagan witchy ways with their beautiful voices. If you look at our history and culture you will see we have always been strong in our beautiful pagan ways. Witchcraft has also been part of our culture (from my experience...) but more in a pure form of practice. I still practice and enjoy it...This music chant has power of upliftment and unity. Purification and power.... when you know how to.... Love it ... Paldias

All religion is about staying connected with (and ultimately reuniting with) infinite consciousness (God/Being). That includes ancient shamanism/paganism/witchcraft. So-called "black magic" (using the power of consciousness in service of the ego) is what the Bible warns against. Due to the misogynistic politics of medieval England, English Bible translators rendered the Hebrew/Aramaic term for black magic simply as 'witchcraft.'

Witches and werewolves midsummer belongs to them . The witch ran through the air ... Not through my backyard My yard is forged with iron Needles and barriers for barriers Needles and barriers for barriers Caught up in the rafters Needles stabbed Rafters cut The river flowed like buttermilk In my cows' pasture There the hunter broke its neck and stood nine witches, Drowning was Laumas daughter Without the sun in the evening.

The Celts called this feast Litha. In Latvia it is Ligo, in western Russia and Belarus, Ivana Kupala. A song about the imagination and purification of nature, the shortest night of the year. Ordinary witches sing. The fact is that the Holy (their mother) inquisition on these lands was not allowed. And never let it go. We love our witches. And they didn’t give it and will not let it burn at the stake. Take care of your witches :-) Because our mother is not a church, our mother is nature.

@@lucymot2010 The word pagan covering hundreds of religions means little to nothing and the reason the faith rejects the word. Says nothing about their beliefs. The faith is good at stealing Christian followers then rejecting them. The faith only keeps certain types of Germanics. The faith is one of the few followers of the old faiths to have a all Germanic town in the USA with a decent population and a couple small villages. PIE is the mother of all European languages. I don't know why and how the four or five strands of PIE language branched off, Celtic, Germanic, Slavic, Latin, Greek and Baltic (is that similar to Slavic?) . I tend to go with the theory that most Europeans came as Kurgans from Russia and invaded thousands of years ago, of course you have people like Basques etc. that were here before, maybe even the Sami people too.

Lithuanian and Latvian shares the same Baltic language branch, however Lithuanian is more archaic. Latvian language was more influenced by German, fino ugro and Slavic neighbors. Old Prussian language {Sembian} which belonged to Baltic language group, was most archaic and closest to Sanskrit however it extincted due to Prussian extermination and Germanisation.

@@maxmichalik4938 I was joking too... although my mother in law supposedly had a birth mark on the back of her neck that supposedly meant that she was indeed a witch and could communicate with nature spirits. Her son also had the same birthmark (though the spirits he consorted with were of the alcoholic kind) and his children have it too, but so far the most eldritch thing about either of them is his daughter's red hair and his son's fondness for Pokemon.

this is honestly one of the best arrangements i've seen. Despite being a single melodic phrase with a slight rhythmic variation and only using voice and drums, I am engaged throughout the entire song. In the beginning, its just a dank drum beat and you begin to wonder if there is any harmony coming. Then they start singing but all in unison, no harmonies but the syncopation in the melodic rhythm is infectious. Then the drums cut out and they break into the full harmonies without the drums to distract and these harmonies are perfect so it really just pops. Then they bring it all home with a dope dance and the drums to feverish crescendo. Very well done ladies. I would love to see more simple drum + voice arrangements like this that on first listen may seem basic but upon closer inspection are actually very musically interesting.
@blupipas69803 жыл бұрын
If you enjoyed this arrangement of well balanced voices + drums, you might love the Polish groupe Laboratorium Piesni who also sings in Belarusian. Their most famous song is Sztoj pa moru (Што й па мору) but among the lesser known ones I prefer Oj Palja (Ой Паля)

It seems to me you have a good request. The rest is trying to explain why your pantheon needs to pay attention, and they should. You have done a fantastic job of explaining your gods, and sharing their preferred method of communication.
