I had that doing a clutch once. Fought every step of the way coming apart, including starting to snow and REALLY was not looking forward to rebuild. Decided to set landmarks in the job and have a break on reassembly. I ended the day feeling utterly baffled that everything was back together, nothing left over and I had a functional car. Lol

I’m assuming that the wiring on that car is proving to be a greater challenge then even they expected. I can’t imagine how unbelievably complex it is to get all of the mclaren computer and electrical functions working on this kind of build. Even without the hybrid system.

you clearly know nothing about rebuilding or the collision repair industry in general. vehicles are totaled out when the price of repairs exceeds the actual cash value of the vehicle before it was totaled. it is genuinely impossible for a R8 to be totaled if it only lost half its value. copart currently has a totaled 2017 R8 V10 for $250.

@@misseselise3864 First, I know allot about this industry, I manage several hundred thousand fleet vehicles. First that was satire. Second, you are incorrect. the calculation is the difference between the salvage value AND repairs versus the vehicle value. If an insurance company can get more off salvage than the repairs versus what they have to settle for, then it's totaled. They don't care about what the veh is worth.
