You can still manually import and export via the cog symbol you were in. We had a discussion on the Discord about it and the dev made it clear.

You can also go to the trade screen and select resources, and set it for grain or whatever, and then offer money or barter and let them tell you what they would accept in exchange for the number of resources you’re requesting.

The market will actually stock livestock for your citizens, which is why you were out of livestock for your pasture at the start of the episode

18:30 my previous comment may have been confusing about rations. I actually meant that the food production panel was showing a surplus, so I increased the target food rations so they'd eat more food rather than let it spoil (but maybe selling it is better, not sure). For example your warehouse is full of fruit, so I'm not sure how much is selling vs spoiling vs being eaten, or if there's a way to sell more (bigger markets?). I agree that making rations with herbs is also good for the "food days" to prevent spoiling though, but yeah it requires herbs and rationmakers and isn't useful if they're going to actually eat it since you lose food in the process. I'm adding a couple suggestions on discord to change the "rations" name and maybe the food production panel so it's a little more clear that "target food rations" has nothing to do with the rationmaker like it sounds like I may have misled you into thinking here.

Actually I was expecting exactly what you described, cause that's the old mechanic I know of. I was merely wondering if there was a new mechanic I didn't know of. But yeah, my points were as well: 1.) More Food can be stored due to less spoilage --> More Food Days available ---> More Happy People 2.) Rations can help increasing the amount of food to give your subjects burst wise, cause you can store the stuff way better. And yeah, a more precise renaming would be really nice there. I only knew what it meant cause I knew the previous versions very well. And it got me also lured into a false hope of a new mechanic at work, making people happy just because Rations are stored.

Thank you for these guides they are extremely helpful. Just a question or two. There has been a few recent updates to the beta which may affect strategy. Are you updating or keeping to one version? If you are updating it may be useful to post at the beginning of the guide for us to know. Episode Seven indicates that this is for members only. Is this an error? Tks

I'll definitely address changes over the course of the time. I do expect to see yet another version to the full release, which will be also my final version of the tutorial series. And pre-recorded episodes are shown as for members only and get released on a daily basis for free. I merely make them available earlier for channel members.

Nice tutorial as always. Though, I am having this problem with importing. When ever I import a lot, the population becomes unhappy due to their "riches" needs. What is the ideal ratio?

Depends on its rarity in your region. It varies according to your neighbour's offer/demand. And it will also start changing through the game, it will get even more expensinve if you buy big amounts of it regularly.
