People need more shows with conversations like this to reach them. You would be surprised how many of us do not understand politics and could care less about politics. There are so many of us who are more concerned about surviving in this world and not about those who are making the policies that directly affect all of our lives.

Before I begin, I will qualify this by saying that my choice for the presidency was Marianne Williamson and I voted for her in the primary. However, since that didn't work out, we got Biden. Being the realist that I am, I moved on. Now onto my comment: The DNC did the right thing by transitioning from Joe Biden to Kamala Harris. To think that they could have, or should have, stayed the course with Biden would have been naive and irresponsible from a political perspective. Biden had been showing signs of slowing down for months and Trump was going to clean his clock because there was an absence of enthusiasm for Biden even before the disastrous debate performance, but even more so after it. The democrats could not risk the possibility of Trump getting back in the White House, so they did what was necessary. If it hurt anyone's feelings, I say grow up and get over it.
@beebebea5742Ай бұрын
And Democrats didn't "push" Biden off the ticket: his donors did. He was adamant he was going to run in spite of the fact that he was going to lose.
@daddiesgurl68Ай бұрын
I hope that those who forced Biden out are right. I voted for Biden & I was going vote for him for President again. I am not sure that America is ready for a Black woman President. If you all cause us to lose the election, we will be damned to a Trump presidency as well America as we know it will be gone. I never voted for Ms. Harris. I wanted Elizabeth Warren.

Travis Smiley, why is it "impossible and unthinkable" for Kamala Harris to do something SPECIFICALLY American Black descendants of slavery in THIS country? Why wasn't it "impossible and unthinkable" to give "ILLEGALS" federal programs to teach them financial budgeting to save money for homeownership, to pay 6 months RENT for them, to teach them how to acquire BUSINESSES and more? When in the last 60+ years has the Democrats uplifted us? Keep talking LOUD!

Lol ... we have states right now who will not accept funds for Medicaid for our constituents. If our Federal government had anything for Black people, individual states would keep that money from us. Biden is trying to ease some of the burdens from student loans. Governors sued so that we could not benefit from the plans that were created. It is not so simple to just give us "something". There are those in Congress who refuse to even have a study as to what we are owed. We need to be paid not only for slavery but Jim Crow & the systemic racism & how it impacts us to this day...with interest.

@hartrob12 ай бұрын
That was the fallout. It was alright for Tavis to hold Obama's feet to the fire on issues. I believe the problem was he didn't do the same to Hillary or any other candidate and Cornell West who supported Obama at first, joined him. That's what people didn't like. Then at the end of Obama's second term, Tavis penned a letter to him apologizing.
