Tawanchai's that unassuming type. If he walked into your workplace wearing glasses and a suit carrying a briefcase and you didn't know who he was, you'd think he was about to file your taxes. Then you see him put on the trunks and gloves and rip people apart and it's a total transformation. Literal Muay Thai Clark Kent/Superman.
@winachance43153 жыл бұрын
Very liking Karuhat with that similitude. But since Karuhat is quite a small built Asian man so for you farang you may not detect that much. Any way if you met Karuhat outside the rings you'll be touched by his "Clark Kent" radiance even more than from Tawanchai whose appearance is frequently a preoccupied person in real life. Karuhat even wares the black bordered glasses and dresses neat.

If this is the greatest performance you've seen in a long time then your mind is going to be blown when you look at more Muay Thai fighters from the 1960s-1990s. There's Hippy Singmanee (also reminds me of Tawanchai in this fight, but he was more skilled than Tawanchai. He was small and had to fight above his weight like Saenchai and yet he could still beat the crap out of his opponents), Somrak Khamsing (the teacher of Saenchai and was basically a more significant version of Lerdsila. In fact Somrak, Lerdsila and Saenchai are all from the mythical Jocky Gym!), Karuhat Sor Supawan (unbelievable genius who made his opponents look easy just like Saenchai. Like Hippy, he had to fight above his weight class), Oley Kiatoneway (he was a matrix fighter just like Somrak and Lerdsila. Just like Tawanchai his facial expression would never change while he was casually dodging punching combinations or leaning back like Lerdsila to avoid body kicks) There's also Santos Devy, Buakaw Por Pisitchet (not the Buakaw from K-1, this is a smarter/cleaner Buakaw), Samart Payakaroon (during the peak of his career he was a combination of Lerdsila and Saenchai, unfortunately the recordings of his best fights are sitting in collector's basements), Pudpadnoi Worawut (a genius, brutal kicker who was one of the first fighters who showed Thailand that you can win a fight even when you are moving backwards. Without Pudpadnoi fighters like Tawanchai or Lerdsila would've never have thrived. Whenever he kicked his opponents you can see them recoil from his sheer kicking strength), there's also Pudpadnoi's team mate Poot Lorlek (he was one of the greatest head kickers of all time, at any moment he would flick his leg at heads from an unusually close distance like Superbon can)

@ARPat20003 жыл бұрын
I feel like ONE has a tendency to make unfair matchups to hype (and pad) the records of their big names. I can't blame them as an organization trying to close in on the gap of the UFC's monopoly, but it is a bit weird for the fighter who has to face some of these killers. Although since it is so common in boxing, probably even more so despite there being way more money involved, I think ONE does a pretty decent job regardless.
