This is gold! I just found and ordered your book for enrolled agent university: individual income for 2024 My dad’s a cpa with a lot of work all year round. My sister was a cpa too but she passed. My dream was to work in the office with both of them, but I didn’t have my life together at the time. I still want to make them both proud.

Outsourced Accounting is where the money is at. Package Bookeeping, Payroll, Tax Planning and Tax Preparation into a bundle of $1000 per month. $12,000/year from each business owner or 1099 person like a Realtor and all you need is 10-20 clients to make big money. It just comes down to if you know how to market yourself.

This is my 1st year as a Tax Preparer and Realtor. I'm 22 and just graduated in December with an Accounting degree. I'm charging pretty cheap prices but my real goal is to get clients in my office to build a rapport with them to help them with Real Estate in the future. I'm using tax preparation more as a marketing tool to connect with people to help them buy and sell real estate. I don't know if this is a good idea and will work but it's worth a shot. The failure rate for Realtors is 90% as in 90% quit within 5 years because they couldn't find clients and were not committed to putting in the work. Either way, if this fails, my goal is to become an outsourced Accountant and charge $12,000/year to business owners.

A major tax prep company said that you are no longer allowed to charge for the EITC form. (For 2021) of this true, I think you can’t tell customers that you are breaking it down in this way. I thought they said this is from the IRS, I’m uncertain, so I’d suggest checking on the IRS WEBSITE.

There was a time when I prepared a tax return for a Car Sales Manager. He told me before I came to him that his CPA charged him 2000.00 to get back 1000.00 I charged him 750.00 and got him back 10,000.00 he didnt even wanna cash the check. I did a schedule c for him.... I asked him does he drive place to place to meet big clients. (Him) all the time... (mileage) does your suite go to the laundry or cleaners... (him) cleaners..... ok laundry bill.... (how many kids) him.... 1 if I remember correctly. And he was married.... he couldn't believe it. I told him that he want to keep track of his miles by using Mile IQ or TaxBot and himself a business bank acct and DBA

1:25 It's kind of true though. If you don't have a CPA or EA license, you shouldn't be charging EA level prices. I currently only charge $200 for Schedule C business returns but once I get my EA license in the summer, I'm going to bump it up to at least $300 if not $400. It's about supply and demand. You can charge $500 from the start but you'll have very few clients. Once you have a huge database of clients, you 2-3x the prices to meet demand and filter out people who don't want to pay.

If a business client doesn’t have P&L and Balance Sheet but has 12 months bank statement how much should you charge to prepare returns ?
@MichaelP-ke1tm
@MichaelP-ke1tm 4 жыл бұрын
Why do you need a balance sheet unless it's an S-Corp??? You just need them to have income and expenses on quickbooks or an excel sheet. I wouldn't deal with the bank statement garbage but I think there's a software to convert bank statements into excel
@kristinabaily594
@kristinabaily594 4 жыл бұрын
Patrick maybe you didn’t understand the question. I didn’t say how to prepare??? I said how much? Many business owners don’t keep their books during tax season they just have statements and receipts. I wouldn’t turn the client away because that is potentially a bookkeeping client in addition to taxes. I was interested to know how much Crysta would charge in this instance. Also why would you assume business returns would exclude s corps ??

@jaaziel9
@jaaziel9 4 жыл бұрын
Apparently, you do not do bank products! Also, if they are getting nothing back, you charges them nothing? The problem with your charges is: Your charges can not be based on the amount of the taxpayer's refund, but instead on the work that you do. If you are doing the same amount of work for two clients, the charges should be the same (regardless of the amount they are getting back) in order for you to support your fees in case of an audit.. Per IRS Circular 230, a tax preparer must be consistent in their charges and charge each client the same amount for the same amount of work performed, and post a fee schedule in their office of fees charged. Best Practice is to use either hourly rate, or the per form rate.
