Bob Taylor is a genius when it comes to building guitars. Taylor isn't an old company like Martin but I think their guitar building techniques are much more revolutionary than Martins. Some of the cheaper Taylor models sound like some $1500 Martins out there.

I've seen you in several videos and I think you're being a good reference for guitars. I've owned some of the guitars that you've reviewed.

Thanks for the vid. I agree about the pickup being out of view. It looks really classy on this Taylor. The other guitars I tried today with the pickup right next to the sound hole looked like trash. Love the minimalist knobs on the Taylor, too. I just traded in my $200 Fender Concert for this, and it's a BIG improvement.

Can you compare it to a takamine at the same or near the price point of your taylor or any import guitar at the same price point if the 114 ce is still the best.

@@christianmorera4127 well in my opinion, it will also depend upon strings that im using.. coz mostly TAYLOR stock strings are ELIXIR which has more bright sounds... that is why im using D'ADDARIO strings which has a balanced sound for me...🎸🎸🎸🙂 well, diffrent guitar players has their own sounds preference

I had a good chuckle when he tackled the aesthetics part because I can totally relate to it. I mean yes you sound good but if you you don't please me in the looks department then the exit is over there. 114ce looks premium and sound premium despite its reputation as being the most affordable in Taylor's standard line. Totally working to have one someday.

It might be the best Taylor for the money, but for a foreign made laminate b & s $900 guitar, it’s not even close to a good value. Yamaha, Guild, Alvarez, and I’m sure many others offer all solid guitars for the same price or less. Taylor’s walnut 114 is their best sounding Mexico made guitar imo, but way overpriced compared to the competition.

Do you know what is "Taylor laminate" ,compared to layered cheap plywood layers with a surface veneer? Because that lies all the difference and tonically speaking it won't make a difference ,"cheap solid wood" built ones sound way worse than this concept and since I have been a carpenter for all my life I know what I'm speaking of.The Taylor layers are "pure wood" not plywood,they vibrate as well and even better than a solid wood slab but they are lighter and more strong.Ironically is cheaper to build a solid poor wood guitar back and sides than do this "total wood layers",place in casts glue and assemble,so as you can see you were totally wrong.

Gautama Sakyamuni taylor laminate is better than most laminates on other guitars
@M4NAH1MEK04 жыл бұрын
@@byrong1490 That's your opinion,mine is different since laminates are all laminates,on Taylor you simply pay more for the brand name.

@@M4NAH1MEK0 What are you smoking laminate sound better than solid wood ? Then explain why all solid wood guitar are much more expensive than solid top ? Stop smoking crack while commenting

I recently picked up a "used" but basically new 114CE-SB for $400. Before that I played a Fender Newporter Classic with solid top, back, and sides. On paper, the Newporter Classic should be a better guitar. Both in about the same price range BUT the Taylor just smokes the Fender on all levels. The laminate on the 114CE might as well be solid wood, after all, what is wood? Micro layers of wood bound by sap and tree resin (hippie glue) and Taylor's lamination is micro layers of wood bound by actual glue.. not much difference. It sounds so much fuller and resonates 10 times better. The Fender sounds great.. but the Taylor sounds superb.

It is a good guitar but also overpriced. For example Yamaha A3 series absolutely smoke this guitar for less money
