I was auditioning my next guitar today - and the guy in the store handed me this Takamine… and it felt… just right! The neck feels like my strat’s neck - and that’s one of the most important things for me. Now that I’ve heard the electronics - the Takamine electronics are way more natural than the Taylor’s. I’m feeling better all the time about the idea of a Takamine being in my future!

I've been a Takamine guy for 30 years ef341sc to be exact. It got stolen once gave away one to my niece but always came back to that exact model. My friends had Taylor and Taylor is definitely great guitar but pricey. To me Takamine is a better value.

The Takamine sounds much more natural when using the pickup. For the price difference between the two I think the Takamine is by far the better choice.

The Takamine sounds much fuller. I actually sold my Taylor because I found myself always playing my 350.00 Ibanez that sounded better and felt nicer to play. Price means nothing.

To my ears the taylor has a gorgeous sound. Much better than the takamine and easily worth the higher price. May I ask what strings you use on the taylor?

Thanks for watching. In this video, this Taylor was restrung with Stringjoy Strings. Here is my other demo of this guitar kzbin.info/www/bejne/fnvJdJewmc6fl9k

The Takamine is less than half of the price of the Taylor. Therefore it's actually a solid value.

I ended up buying the Takamine FN15 AR (found it for $1000), AAA+ cedar and Amazonian Rosewood back and sides. It's a gorgeous guitar with the Takamine Palathetic Pickup. It also has a protective takamine box at this price. Action 2mm, fret14., without fret buzz. I also bought the Takamine GN90CE MD ($460 USD) with a sitka spruce top, Madagascar Rosewood back and sides . Also a great sounding guitar, I like it even more like the FN12 AR. I couldn't get down to Takamine GN30 after P7JC.

Takamine to my ear is more rounded and projects better. Taylor did sound good plugged in, but the Takamine electrics won there too. Good shootout video! 👍

I adore the Takamine’s tone. I got a Taylor 214ce but even if it is very good, I feel more connection with the Takamine tone. I should have found this video before ;)

The Sound of the Taylor is way much smoother than the Takamine. Takamine is more rough in its handling the sound is steely compare to the Taylor. Compare the two Bodies with each other Taylors Body is thinner than the Takamines Body. You go on a Acoustic Tour take the Taylor you go on a big Rock or Country Tour take the Takamine like Bon Jovi and Garth Brooks do.

I wonder if you put the 214ce vs the Gn51ce. Coz the 51 itself is a huge step up from the gn30ce. Step up in sound, not much in price.

They both be the same spec solid spruce tops, laminated mahogany back and sides the Taylor would be Sapele but not much difference in that. Taylor alittle brighter acousticly the Tak alittle warmer depends what you like "Acousticly". then the electronics waaaay nicer and more natural on the Tak. the Taylor electronics less natural more harsher sounding. thats why Takamines are famous is for their unmatchable electronics right. the Takamine seems the best option to me between these two. if you want the Tak to be brighter then string it up with Phospoher bronze Elixers LOL!

I've had 2 Taylors & 6 Takamines both great guitars. Taylors are over priced, and I don't like the preamp. Tak preamp is the best in the business hot with plenty of head room. I prefer Takamine 100% live guitar for me on the road. PS get better preamps learn from Takamine.
