Taylor Dayne is from Long Island NY where I grew up and still live in. Even when she was still living on Long Island at the time when her songs first came out in the 80's, I used to always hear them play her songs on the local radio stations back then. They still play those songs over 30 years later on the radio. She always had and still has a great singing voice.

Aloha! So happy to see this drop this morning! Taylor did a few performances at the Blue Note here in Waikiki. We attended probably the worst of them because the crowd sucked, not Taylor but the people in attendance. I've never seen people so detached from a performance. Taylor overcame an early microphone glitch and still brought us all the hits. There were many cringe moments from the audience that night.... I hope that doesn't keep her from coming back. Loved getting to be at one of her shows, first time for me. Thanks for the great reaction Empress.

True story - my uncles best friend was dating Taylor Dayne in the late 80s and there was a slight chance that they were coming to my parents New Year’s Eve party. I was so nervous because I only had Madonna posters up. I was like, Ma, please get me a Taylor Dayne one. Lmao I didn’t want her to get mad or jealous haha (They never came)

Glad to see you react to this one! You'd done some other Taylor Dayne songs awhile back, and I was bummed to see you'd missed one of the best lol. Love that musical break at the climax of the song at around 4:17. She definitely suffered from being in the wrong place at the wrong time, cause I think she could've been up there with a stellar career along with Whitney and other great vocalists, but she was definitely in Whitney's shadow (especially being with the same label... Clive was definitely focused on WH)
