Taylor Dayne. Lissette Melendez reallybsaved Freestyle back in the day. Hip hop at the time was gaining ground Freestyle was king with the djs like me back in the mid to late 80's lissette eas first i think then Taylor. Met them back then. In the clubs these songs then Corina etc re surges the freestyle. I mean to me Freestyle is king but they kicked back up. The ladies. I remember when this song broke glasnost in Russia changing of Russia was all over the news I took a week to go to Florida came back it was wild. The 12 inch mixes of this song was great. Great time. Way back when Freestyle was king.

Taylor Dayne has THE voice. Real talent with sensual beauty far eclipsing her peers in the late 80's to mid 90's. Great catalog of music, why is she in such small venues?

Because there doesn't look to be anyone under 50 in the audience. I saw T'Pau at our local 300 seat theatre. During the breaks between songs Carol Decker was reminiscing how 25 years earlier they had sold out the huge National Exhibition Centre for three nights. Very few acts can still sell out large venues that long after they were famous.

Well, the other younger Taylor is way more popular with the younger generations, gen z, they can't relate to singers that were popular way before they were born. So, most of Dayne's audience was alive in 1987, 1988, etc. when Dayne was popular. The iPhone generation would rather go to a Swift concert. Philly was packed with young girls and women last weekend. I saw it on the news. Well, I can't relate to the younger gens, I'm gen X born Jan 1974 and I like 70's and 80's music. A bunch of older singers popular in the 80's passed away like Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Donna Summer, George Michael, Prince, Olivia Newton-John, Irene Cara. And some still alive singers are retiring, like Elton John and Neil Diamond. Aerosmith is retiring after final tours. We still have Hall and Oates, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna. Janet Jackson came to my area last Thursday, to a hockey arena in Allentown, PA.
