I bought this guitar just under two weeks ago, and I love it. No, it's not the 'best' guitar I've ever bought. But it is the best value guitar I've ever bought. I love the light weight, smaller size and the tone of the wood (on the warm side). When the (bright) 13s wear out, I'll swap them out for some warmer 12s. Nice gig bag, too. A Taylor guitar with a nice bag for $500. Why the hell not?

Played the mini for the first time today after researching for weeks. The playability is overhyped but the sound is amazing for a small body guitar with laminate back and sides. I tried the Eastman equivalent and it's a better guitar. Both good though.

I upgraded mine with a bone saddle, ebony pins and switched to D'Addario EXP19's (bluegrass light/medium mixed gauge Bronze 80/20 stings), and it now sounds nearly as "big" and balanced as a 322 I once owned (but not quite as big as a 324).

I have a LE Taylor 412ce and a Vintage Martin D18 and I use my Mini when I upload most of my videos to KZbin. I love the smaller scale, and yet it has a big sound. And they come with the Expression system electronics now! Even better. The clip-in ES Go pickup doesn't quite cut it. This was a lovely demonstration my friend. Thanks for sharing.

I bought a Martin D28 from Guitar Center, used their financing, no interest over 3 years, and by doing so and opening up a card there, I earned $500 GC points and bought this Taylor for free. Highly recommend using Guitar Center and their financing makes any guitar affordable. As long as you pay on time, you do not incur any interest. That's the key. Why use up all your money at once? Looking forward to getting this Taylor manogany GS mini! I love the tone of a mahogany guitar. Used to have an old 70s era mahogany Guild. Such a warm tone!

try learning like real people do by hozier. its not quite the same but they have similarities in the note shape and fingerpicking style. then once you get that down its up to you to get a feel for the exact notes hes playing, although from what im seeing it seems to be a variant of a g major chord with some notes in between in the g major scale

The back and sides of this model, are they solid thicker wood or are they more like that thinner high pressure laminate of certain Martin guitar models? I own a Martin GPCPA4 made with that high pressure laminate material, and it bothers me actually. I should have researched it more before I bought that guitar, haha. Anyway, great playing, guitar sounds great!

One comment - I had to lighten the strings up on mine. I found the slightly smaller fretboard was shredding my hands. Great little axe though.
@truckerkevthepaidtourist5 жыл бұрын
that's the thing about the tailor minis you need to have your strange if you want that amazing sound.. otherwise just buy a full size guitar and change the strings.. hopefully after four years you're back to the strings that came on your mini if you still have it..that's the magic not only the quality build but the heavier gauge strings that just give it an unbelievable sound with such an unbelievable buy
@youspace1112 жыл бұрын
Hi, is the sound hole standard size or smaller? Might be good to fit a pickup.
@DTFBMusic11 жыл бұрын
It's not like a standard hard shell case. It is more like a gig bag but much better padding. There is no wood used in making the case. I have tried to find an actual hard shell case to fit it but there does not seem to be anything available that fits the unique size and shape of the mini.

Pretty much if you can afford a 314ce, you will have A high end Taylor since there all the same guitar afterwords just bells and whistles and the side woods are more expensive. granted those side woods do make it sound a some what fuller but nothing you couldn't get out of it's expression system for studio applications.

Could You tell me more about this guitar? How about the intonation on the upper frets? And is it reliable? How about tuning stability? Yeah imo the martin D-28 is the only decent guitar ive ever played from them. I've hardly played many martins maybe around 10 different models (my parents don't usually let me get that kinda budget guitar) and they're not as hyped as people make them out to be. If im gonna spend over a G on an acoustic then I'm gonna go with a Gibson or Taylor.

Yeah for real! And the sound doesn't even compare in my opinion. It sounds better than the greater majority of regular sized guitars so I'm sure you'd be more happy with this than any other guitar in this price range. Martin X series would be the next closest option but really your only buying the name with that model. They're better than the average guitar but not worth it to me.

I felt I was crazy for even thinking this could be mine someday. Fast forward many years, tonight my Taylor GS Mini Mahogany is arriving 😍 It's a gift from some very kind people! This year, January 1st, God gave me Psalm 37:4 - Delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart." It's December 21st today, here in India. And God faithfully delivered His promise. I am still watching this video, like it's a dream. Just when you think it is impossible.. the miracle happens! ❤ Sorry if I seemed wrong.. but really.. I really really hope you get this guitar one day. It's never a dead dream. All things are possible with God 🙏

Sometimes a professional setup works sometimes not at all. My first guitar was an Ovation celeb series and I completely hated it! It had the highest action you could possibly imagine and it sounded like a plasticy piece of crap (it was a bday present when I first started playing guitar and my parents have no knowledge on instruments) I took it to GC and had he said he couldn't do much for it and what he was able to fix didnt help.
