Well I got the hog mini and I'm in love. It opened my heart that had that big part of it close when my acoustic was stolen. It took me 50 years to replace it. Very healing and the hog mini is I believe the only one I need. Thanks for promoting them with your video so beautifully.

I'm an electric guitar player and over the years I've tried many acoustic guitars but never found one that felt comfortable playing to me until I found the GS Mini-e Mahogany just last week. Its awesome, feel so great to play. Im not struggling with it. The shorter scale and awesome Taylor neck makes all the difference in the world. Love it.

Went to my local music store fully intending to buy the mini e koa. Saw the mini mahogany and decided to give it a play. I walked out with the Hog and saved $250 in the process. The Koa was very nice but to my ear, the hog was too good to pass up and at a better price point.

i got the gs mini mahogany (non-e) last weekend. i was torn between that and the e-koa (non-plus). it's a little love bomb of a guitar! the wife even commented on the nice warm tone. and i hardly get any rattling/buzzing. i think it comes with 13s (?) so the strings aren't as slinky as you might expect from the short scale length (if you want slinky try the baby). the only thing i've noticed is that i can't keep the guitar quite as stable (the neck moves around a bit when i apply pressure to the fretboard) say when i'm doing a D minor than with my bigger acoustics. also the nice included bag is really snug (a bit tough to zip shut with the guitar in it) but maybe that's a good thing. i also tried the big baby and academy 12 and really liked both of those as well. the guitar did not come with a truss rod tool (even my donner came with a truss rod tool) although you can buy one online. overall, though, very impressed by Taylor. i like my Corts (i have a mahogany dreadnought shape from them that sounds great) but the taylor's are really good! i tried some equivalent martins but liked the taylors better. i didn't try the yamaha that everyone raves about (i had a yamaha many years ago and didn't really connect with it).

@@nrcarl00 I have been loving mine. It is easy to play, has a great sound, and a unique look. It is the only guitar I have played so far that spoke to me and made my creativity branch off in a different direction. And the sound you get out of these little beauties is more than what you expect. The playbility and tone is fantastic as well and the quality of the tone doesn't dull over time. It only gets better, and I really feel like you get more than what you pay for when you buy one of these. The quality of sound/construction is fantastic for the price. Mine also came with perfect action right out of the box. I have always wanted a Taylor, so I might be a little biased...

I just purchased a Taylor GS Mini-e Mahogany and I love it except for one very important thing. The pickup/preamp is horrible. Super microphonic high midrange nasal tone. This is going to be difficult to gig with. Anybody else having this problem? If so, how did you solve the issue?

I’m gonna install a K&k mini. Seems to be the least invasive, easiest to install, cheapest, most bang for your buck pickup, and decent sounding option for this particular guitar. They run about $100...I bought my GS mini without any electronics so not sure how hard it’ll be to remove and/or integrate a new pickup when you already have electronics installed.

Completely agree with you! I tried recording it several times through my focusrite. Terrible. Think I'm going to take the advice of the guy below about the K&K mini!

I should have kept my cheap Fender CD 140 with Fishman Isys Preamp. It was a great sounding gigging guitar but nooooo, I just had to get the unnecessary upgrade to a entry level Taylor.

@@joequintana5546 I dunno man, the Taylor is awesome once you get it all set up. If it’s too much hassle, you can sell the Taylor and pick up another gig guitar. I highly suggest the Yamaha fg800. I believe it too has a fishman, plays and sounds great!

Thanks for watching! Here is my advice--If you prefer a wider dynamic range, more top-end volume and more precision then you should go with the spruce top. Is the bracing of soundboard is similar to other Tylor guitar or there are less bracing on soundboard.. due to small size?? can u share this info with me please..🙏

Do these guitars have the same quality feel as the higher end Taylors?

Yes. Absolutely. Same precise construction & quality control. The trade offs are less fancy appointments, ie: ornate inlays & binding. The tops are solid tone woods with "laminate" (layered wood) sides. You still get great sound, but the guitar will be less susceptible to temperature changes. I personally own the all mahogany, and the neck feel, action & responsiveness is remarkable.

I also have this guitar and think it feels pretty good quality, sometimes when I'm playing, It resonates so much that I have to stop playing and check if it is not an earth tremor haha (I live in area prone to earth tremors).
