I have an old aria acoustic guitar. When i remove the truss rod cover all I see is a regular nut that is at the bottom of the rod with some threads exposed. There is no eggcorn or bullet in front of it. There is no possible way to fit a socket in to tighten it since there is no clearance in front of the rod because the wood head stock is in front of it. It can probably be accessed with a open ended wrench. I need to straighten the neck. it has a bow in it and the strings are pretty high from the fret board. Any input?

@Edwin-E3 жыл бұрын
If the neck is already straight, then tightening the truss rod will cause reverse bowing which will cause fret buzz on the lower frets. If the action is too high, then probably needs a neck reset. Hi Edwin, I’m not sure if you make Taylor Guitar action lower, turn Truss tod clockwise or counterclockwise?
@Edwin-E3 жыл бұрын
normally, tightening by clockwise to counteract string tension. This will make neck straight if it is bowed inward, thereby lowering the action.

Hi. I still find my action too high on my Taylor after adjusting the trust rod. Would using a lighter gauge string help? and what size would you recommend? Thanks :)

I think my other video can answer about your guitar action. Lighter gauge will help a little bit. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHyZg2OwnLOcZsk

Thank you Edwin. is truss rod wrench same for all taylor guitars including GS mini?
@Edwin-E4 жыл бұрын
welcome. I am not sure if they are all the same, but I had 3 models and they all use the same, including GS Mini.

Your Taylor sounds great. Is that a 614? Why are Taylor guitars so bright. Every time I buy a Taylor I can't get it on EBay fast enough to go buy a Martin or Gibson.

This is 214ce.

The purpose of Truss Rod Adjustment is to keep the strings as low as possible without buzzing when played relatively hard. I am saying relatively because it depend to the play style of each guitar player.
