Whoever runs this KZbin account is killing it. Thank you so much for not cutting these interviews to shit in an attempt to drive listeners to your subscription based content. That shit never works.

I really admire this good-natured polite man and his work. There's only a few gentlemen left in Hollywood and like Richard Gere said, Mr. Hackford is really an intelligent non-show off director, like the Kubrick's of this work, whose work you have to say are "masterpieces" but inside your soul you know you really can't stand watching 2001 indulgent experimental pointless exercises. I would say to make a movie like An Officer and a Gentleman with this wonderful team is a much more difficult task and it truly shows this director's brave work. An Officer and a Gentleman and Against All Odds are two of my favourite movies of all time and there's really not much more breath-taking cinematography to find outside these 2 glorious movies. It doesn't come any better than this.

When they finally released Hail Hail Rock and Roll on DVD I snapped it up, my fav RnR movie ever. The special features includes a documentary on the making of the movie and it is as entertaining as the film itself. Details all of the chaos of getting it made, loads of fun!

That "Oh Carol" fight between Chuck and Keith Richards in "Hail, Hail Rock n Roll" is goddamn hilarious.

Great interview, I especially enjoyed the parts on Ray and Devils Advocate. It's cool hearing how these things actually become a reality.

24:00 Devil's Advocate Funny that he really used Donald Trump's apartment for the scene with Alex Cullen! This is exactly what I thought when I first saw the scene. This guy made two of my all-time fave movies: An Officer and a Gentleman and Devil's Advocate~

The interaction between Chuck and Keith was not as simple as Taylor stated. Chuck did not attack Keith he was reacting to what Keith had done to him earlier. Look for the scene where Chuck says, "don't touch my amp".

The story about getting sued with a frivolous lawsuit for a movie about ruthless lawyers that are actually the devil/demons is poetic.

Chuck Berry did a thing with John Lennon and Yoko Ono grabs a mike and starts making a dying cat noise and Chucks face gets all distorted and he was mad. John and the band didn't flinch and she did it again later and Chuck is PO'd.

Nice interview. It pisses me off though that the interviewers mike is so fucking loud and the 'subject' , Taylor Hackford is a at whisper in comparison. Sort it out.

Chuck is legend but more for white people influence. Little Richard however not only lit a spark (on a pianer) but also brought up so much talent to get over and over and create so much more wonderful music. Little Richard also had a hand in Jagger and Richards legging up while they were noodling covers of their songs. This isn't about a measurement or who sits atop a mountain but I wanted to at least hear the name of The King. Would've been nice.
@chuckfan12 жыл бұрын
All those guys at the beginning, who helped get RnR going, are incredibly important, Richard included. But if you had to try and pick just one, it's easily Chuck Berry. He's the only guy who did it ALL, wrote em, sang em, played the guitar (which is considered THE rock n roll instrument) Ask almost any musician, especially 60s or 70s musician, they cite Chuck. John Lennon said if you called RnR by another name , you'd call it "Chuck Berry" Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis, others, and even Richard have said Chuck IS the KING of Rock and Roll. I'm a fan of all of them, but Chuck is THE one, that is the guy. Basically saying "ok, here's this template for Rock n Roll, I'm giving it to you. Here it is" I dig Richard, Lewis, Holly, Elvis, Domino, Diddley, etc.. But Berry was the guy..
