The last song of the show, the end of the farewell, a deafening emotional silence despite the applause... His hi hats live and breath with the song opening and closing subtly. Listen to any peppers. Seems they would be over processed and compressed because they are tbh popular and mainstream. But listen to the way frusciante lets his guitar feedback and squeal and adds a funky imperfect style to his parts. Improvisational too. Same goes for chad again his hi hats and displaced backbeats and hi hat barks. Rhcp are one of my favorite bands they all have great musical chemistry and usually open with wild energy filled improvisation. Chad is probably my favorite drummer of all time maybe bonham second then peart. But chad can be technical amd even jazzy listen to chad smiths bombastic meatbats. He can also be rockin and driving in chickenfoot. In rhcp i feel like hes about done it all they have grungy songs, slow ballads and lots of sexy funk!

Taylor Momsen manages to invoke the golden age Grunge vibe well, her voice is perfectly suited for all kinds of music, although it is sweet it manages to be raspy and grating at the same time. She does justice in every tribute she has been to date, she always ends up picking more than one song, all the musicians involved obviously enjoy collaborating with her. Hawkins' tribute she was a last minute guest and without rehearsing did two songs, Soundgarden's she was only going to do Loud Love, and got three more songs without rehearsing. She is one of the best things that happened to rock n roll in the last decade, a real gift.

"Are you having fun? It's so weird to be asking that. But I think we should. We should be having fun. Chester would have wanted that, to be having fun". I always remember those (not exact) words by Mike Shinoda in the Chester Bennington Tribute, five years ago. Between the jumping, the crying, the serious moments and everything, I believe live music is to have fun and to express ourselves without any boundaries. With Taylor we also had tons of fun, jumped, screamed, lost our voices and cried. I think that by having fun we're truly celebrating the life of Taylor Hawkins, and Chester Bennington, and so many others. But fucking hell I won't deny that I cried during those final drum hits in Everlong.
