Olympia Looping is my favorite coaster in the world and the one I rode the most. I have to say it's one of the rare coasters it gets more comfortable when you really get stapled in it reduces the headbanging. But i would love if they would get new trains with just lap bars.

Unfortunately, those restraints aren't there to hold you in your seat, they're there to stop you reaching out and hitting your hands on supports. If you pay attention when riding, there's many moments where you could easily touch supports if it weren't for them restraints!
@amandamosteller13712 жыл бұрын
I didn't think of that even though while watching I was wondering how they keep ppl from not breaking fingers, hands etc because of how close all the supports are.
@marcelwannieck2 жыл бұрын
While I absolutely adore this ride, I have to agree, the restraint are awful. Unfortunately they seem to be necessary because the clearances between the supports and other bits of track are so tight that they need to make sure everyone keeps their arms down. I just wish the shoulder restraints didn't come down further during the ride. Congrats on 900!
@lucasadrianbaezmassa88682 жыл бұрын
Since Olympia Looping was his 900th coaster if he were to do a top 10 that would consist of only 1.11% of all the coasters he’s riden. That’s crazy considering how far Taylor has come.
@aerickmccullough3502 жыл бұрын
Congrats on your 900th ride, Taylor. Those restraints are on there for a reason. If they weren't there and you had your hands up, they could have slammed into the support structure, resulting in injury.

I've ridden Olympia a good few times both in Munich and London, and this week I had my first ever bad experience with the restraints. Normally when I go on, the lock point is perfectly in line with my shoulders, so there's no head banging or additional stapling. On this occasion though they locked a fair bit higher and I could really feel a difference in the roughness. It then really did my back in as it locked further too. Congrats on the 900 coasters though, hopefully you can have a better experience in the future as it's an amazing ride.

The crazy thing is, on the Oktoberfest and Winter Wonderland London they put 2 more rows on the train. Makes the thing much more intense. But I agree, the over the shoulder restraint kind of ruin the raid. Alpina Bahn got some new trains some years ago, this made it much better and smoother. I think Olympia looping is looking into getting those too, but nothing concrete yet. I think.

Rode this for the first time last night. Thought it was pretty good to be fair. It’s an absolute masterpiece in terms of the size and layout for a travelling ride. It was snowing as well so we had lots of layers on and I actually found the restraints not too bad. Only thing is I’d had a lot of beer before riding and the loops did make us very dizzy (nearly fell over when I got out of the station 😂) Pretty impressive bit of kit.

Finally got on this a couple of weeks ago and I agree the restraints are to put it mildly a bit of a killjoy. It is crazy intense though. If they could redesign the restraints it could be so much better. I found the shoulder restraints pushing me down into the seat was worse than any headbanging to be honest. I'm 6'1 (185cm) tall but by the time we got back to the station my back started to hurt.

I guess it depends on your height, your seating position and the row you're riding in, but i never thought the restraints were thaaat bad. Not as bad as people tend to make them out to be at least. The biggest problem I've had with them is that they sometimes tighten up during the ride, because of the ridiculous g-forces this ride puts you through, but you can kinda prevent that by maintaining a somewhat straight seating position during the loops. With the restraints not bothering me too much I've always loved this ride and I would rank it much higher over other portable Schwarzkopf coasters like Teststrecke and Alpina Bahn (which I always found kinda dissapointing) to be honest. It's interesting how subjective all of this seems to be, there were several times where me and my friends were riding a rollercoaster for the first time and our opinions on it afterwards were so different from each other that it made me question, if we even rode the same ride.
