A real masterpiece. I love the acoustic versions of Taylor’s songs. True classics. Her breathless, whispering rendition of State of Grace is also one of my favorites. Man, it melts my heart. Then there’s Safe and Sound with that haunting bowed acoustic bass. What a treasure! Aren’t we lucky?

Lyrics I walked through the door with you, the air was cold, But something 'bout it felt like home somehow and I Left my scarf there at your sister's house, And you still got it in your drawer even now. Oh, your sweet disposition and my wide-eyed gaze. We're singing in the car, getting lost upstate. The Autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place, And I can picture it after all these days. And I know it's long gone, And that magic's not here no more, And I might be okay, But I'm not fine at all. 'Cause there we are again on that little town street. You almost ran the red 'cause you were looking over me. Wind in my hair, I was there, I remember it all too well. Photo album on the counter, your cheeks were turning red. You used to be a little kid with glasses in a twin-size bed And your mother's telling stories about you on a tee ball team You tell me 'bout your past, thinking your future was me. And I know it's long gone And there was nothing else I could do And I forget about you long enough To forget why I needed to 'Cause there we are again in the middle of the night. We dance around the kitchen in the refrigerator light Down the stairs, I was there, I remember it all too well, yeah. Maybe we got lost in translation, maybe I asked for too much, And maybe this thing was a masterpiece 'til you tore it all up. Running scared, I was there, I remember it all too well. Hey, you call me up again just to break me like a promise. So casually cruel in the name of being honest. I'm a crumpled up piece of paper lying here 'Cause I remember it all, all, all too well. Time won't fly, it's like I'm paralyzed by it I'd like to be my old self again, but I'm still trying to find it After plaid shirt days and nights when you made me your own Now you mail back my things and I walk home alone But you keep my old scarf from that very first week 'Cause it reminds you of innocence and it smells like me You can't get rid of it, 'cause you remember it all too well, yeah 'Cause there we are again, when I loved you so Back before you lost the one real thing you've ever known It was rare, I was there, I remember it all too well Wind in my hair, you were there, you remember it all Down the stairs, you were there, you remember it all It was rare, I was there, I remember it all too well

I love this! How did you come up with an acoustic version? This is one of my favorites, but I have yet to hear a genuinely acoustic version from her. The live versions start off beautifully with just the piano, but then of course during the later, more powerful part of the song, they have to bring in the clanging drums and electric guitars - so unnecessary and distracting

Is love asking for too much? Too little... Would being not driving my bike that day... Then my dad next time that happend and I didn't get lunch money... Knock on my door and gave me the last money he had ... Knowing what I did last time it happend... Knowing how much I loved her so he sacrifice his last amount of money that week and was a true selfless loving father. That's how love grows and multiplies! That heart!!!💗

Shafiq Sopian yes, there’s this thing called a capo you put over the strings and it makes the strings sound higher pitched due to the pressure being applied closer to the sound hole

I decided to do an experiment, since so many people are making memes out of keyboard symbols. If for some reason you like confusing yourself, you can try to follow what I mean in the abstract symbolic representation of the song at the end of this comment- while listening to the song all the way through. I'm not saying it's smart, or fancy art, but at least it's different from "dancing boy." It's JUST an experiment. This is the first time I've ever tried this out. It's obviously not a substitute for actual musical notation. The symbols are chosen based on my own associations with them, not on any accepted meanings. The ( ) are verse breaks, or pauses in the emotion, with a transition back to the baseline of emotion established at the beginning of the song. The _-- ^ * stuff means a rise in emphasis and emotion. Generally ^ means a rise to top emotion, and is followed by *** , which means top emotion that is sustained, usually with slightly lower notes. !!! means a kind of percussive emphasis that I perceive in the middle of the song, that then is toned down to a melodic emphasis. I think that this is the most consistently sustained lyrical quality in one of Ms. Swift's songs,-- It has a unique kind of "looping" emotional quality that is different from most popular songs- and much more satisfying to me, than say.... Adele. Just try the first one or two sections before each ( ), then if it's boring to you, leave it alone. If you think it has any merit at all, I would very much welcome constructive criticism. Thank you. __-- -- = ^ ( ) _ -- -- ___ -- ^^^--^-==^ -*-*-*---++ ( ) _ -- -- _ _ ** _ - ^^ **^*_ - ^ *** ---*** ( ) ^ !!!!! *** !!! !!! !!! -~~ !!! __ __ --- *** ( ) __ -- __ --_ ~` __ ( ) ^ ^ ** `~ _ -- ~ - *** > > > *** _ - ^ * -- _ *-- `~ ( ) _ - ^ _ - ^ __ - *** ~ ~ __ ~~ *~____ .......

What's real? Real is... Here... Story: Titled: when you love someone This is love. I always went to go see my future wife.. Now exwife... In Hamilton from St. Catharines on the long bus ride... I so very much looked forward to every weekend... Saving my lunch money to see her... Then one week... I didn't get lunch money... My dad at the time was poor... So... What did I do? I drove my bike... Bike... From St. Catharines Ontario to Hamilton, Ontario ... All the way to Mac Master University and back just to see her for the weekend because I couldn't bare the thought of not seeing her every single weekend... Google map it people... By bike... In really hilly roads too... That's love... Not eating at lunch to save for the bus every week... That's love... Not being able to stand the thought of not seeing someone... Not by phone!!! That was not good enough... Love ... True passionate love... Drove my legs up and down on hills roads all the way there and then back... To see her... To hold her hand and feel her warmth...To cuddle... To hug... To hear the sound of her voice... To go on walks... Talk... Understand her... Be totally and utterly in love... Want to know what moved her heart... To touch see and love every inch of her... To know her inside and out and be elated to be on that adventure... That quest...The adventure of her... Of Us... But thinking ... Knowing... That can't be done on the phone... Not like that... Knowing that that phone was not even close to good enough...feeling that love is being at Mac Master with her... That's love... That's what excites me... That's passion... When you love someone truly... Being with them... and Sunday was always the toughest days... That's why I missed so many Monday's of school! Gladly! My schedule came second to my "one" at the time. That's love.
