Yes the song "Betty" is all of Blake and Ryan's kids' names- Betty, Inez and James. The thing I thought of is that I think Ryan is also good friends with Jake Gyllenhaal (they did a movie together a few years ago and in interviews etc. it seemed like they became friends)... I wonder if Ryan gave him a heads up this was coming lol.

I'm constantly surprised at how Taylor consistently raises the bar for music videos. She tells such stories with her lyrics and you don't think it could get any better, and then she comes out with the perfect visual to go alongside. don't know what is worse, "laugh at my dreams, rolled your eyes at my jokes" or "rolled your eyes at my dream, didn't laugh at my jokes" the actual lyric is this "laugh at my dreams, rolled your eyes at my jokes" which I think is more poignant because in some way having someone laugh at your dreams can fundamentally affect you and in some cases if it comes from the most important person in your life you kinda get knocked down and lose interest in them. SO GLAD she didn't though.

“And the girl in your bed has a fine pedigree” this line I believe is actually referring to how the upper class places so much importance in the familial bloodlines of the people they date and eventually marry. As if they were horses to be bred and not actual human beings. The more “blue” their blood, the better. Old money that goes back generations is more important than whether they are actually a good person as long as they do their “evil” deeds in private and not let it tarnish the reputation of the family.

I love how such a simple, yet complex concept as the wedding turning red has so many meanings. It seems like every reaction video has a different idea. It's so multi-faceted. I was thinking of it as him making the choice to have a monochromatic blandness, when he could have had a spill of color making his life vibrant & exciting. At the very beginning there's a flash of her in the mirror, so maybe he was picturing his wedding if she were there. Innocence being red really works though because it's commonly thought that the red scarf represents her loosing her virginity. But she's still at the child's table, still in red even after what she gave up.
