You might have heard this already but Death By a Thousand Cuts was written after Taylor was inspired by watching the Netflix movie Someone Great. And the writer of the movie wrote the script after being inspired by Taylor’s song Clean on her album 1989! Such a crazy full circle moment.

Her mother’s favorite group was The Dixie Chicks (now known as The Chicks) and so the song is mainly about how Taylor was feeling with her mother’s diagnosis because her mom has always been her best friend. 😭💞

The two personalities of Reputation morphing into Lover is so special. It explains a lot if you listen in that order. It explains why she started the Lover album with i forgot that you existed, and ended it with that takeaway message of "you are what you love". She had to go through her reputation era to deal with all the shade the public was throwing at her, but then switched back to her lover era to remind us what she's really about. She's a lover, not a hater. Again, can't wait for you to react to Reputation!!

Yes, perfect explanation. She had to let go of all she went through to accept the love in front of her. That bought up its own issues and needed processing ie) The Archer, Afterglow. Also her first album away from big machine so she could experiment with using her voice politically. Daylight is the most beautiful ending to this album.

Afterglow was my FAVORITE Lover track after first listen and I’m so glad you appreciated it! It’s one of those rare gems that’s underrated in maybe all areas of the Taylor fandom. False God was underrated by a majority of fans for a long time, but I think queer/lgbt+ fans were always particularly in love with it since the release (along with The Archer & Daylight) False God did get some boost in popularity among devoted swifties when she chose to perform it on SNL after the album’s release. It was a bold move to sing a ‘deep cut’ track instead of one of the singles, the right move imo. I’d recommend it if you want to watch a live Taylor performance. Great reaction! and i loved the look ❤️‍🔥

I believe Midnights will be a great album for you. It is perfection. Her order for the songs always is a message in itself, it tells a story. I think she is great at keeping the listener on their toes, also if you put the same sounding songs next to eachother it gets boring very quickly. In this album the thread is LOVE in all it forms, not the production sound.
