How she is in getting into her late 30s and hasn’t been able to keep a man and gone through dozens of relationships yet for many of them they have moved on and yet she hasn’t been able to move on and find her own happily ever after. Even her current boyfriend will end up either becoming too big for her that they end up breaking up as well. Can’t have a singing career based off failed relationships if you don’t keep having failed relationships…what will she ever have too sing about then? Sorry but you people thinking she cares about you in anyway is the sad ones. Going online and destroying people’s lives to the extent that you target children and have to make them go into hiding shows who you are as people and who Taylor herself is because even she knew that was happening and did nothing to stop it yet knowing the truth of the situation. Taylor and her dad are masterminds behind her brand and they always have a long game that no one else sees until after the fact. They literally acted like she was just a girl who grew up on a small farm and got bullied so she has always had a victim narrative. In reality they had a huge Xmas tree farm and her dad made a lot of money and bought into the label that she signed to. I think she’s probably very manipulative when she wants something but is probably very sweet and nice otherwise.

The reality is that there’s not much to say about Taylor, so people cling to whatever they can to make her look bad. Is she perfect? 100% not. If the internet was a place to have a constructive healthy debate, I could name quite a few things I don’t agree with when it comes to Taylor’s actions. But while she’s been very lucky and privileged to have supportive parents who had the money to invest in her, she is far from being the most privileged out there. We are overflowed by nepo babies right now who not only grew up rich (not Christmas tree farm rich, superstars parents rich) but also grew up in the industry they ended up pursuing a career in, with all the right exposure and connections to make it. I don’t hear nearly as much complaining about them as I hear about Taylor. And honestly, even then, privilege cuts both ways. You don’t chose where you’re born. You do what you can with what you have, either way. Taylor and her parents and her team turned a £10000 investment into billions. I don’t know many people who could do that.

Slightly off topic but about 11:50: I'm not sure these guys have seen and listened to the whole Kim K tape (which I'm glad she recorded and released since it gives way more nuance and context). It may have not been legal to record and release the tape but legal and legitimate isn't always the same thing and is a separate discussion. Kanye indeed did ask Taylor about the "might still have sex" part (which he later suggested to change it to "owe me sex"). Taylor acknowledged that line, like these guys say. She actually did not disagree with that line. Not saying she explicitly agreed to it, but she was far from objecting and even joked about "the feminists" coming after Kanye for that line, which shows her unfiltered opinion of feminism and the movement at the time. Whether you approve of the movement or not, Taylor is kind of backstabbing said feminists, since she is perceived as one herself and profits from that image. Further and that's where this video is wrong: Kanye does tell Taylor later in the call about another line he is considering for the song, "I made her famous". To that she again does not object, does not disagree. Again, not saying she explicitly agrees either. However, what she did do on the call regarding that line is make Kanye aware how she was fairly known in her niche of music by 2009 when he famously interrupted her (she mentions how many records, I believe, fearless ? sold, etc) and what is more important (and to me sounds like consent bth) she tells Kanye to go with how he perceives/d the whole situation that went down in 2009 when choosing to use the "I made her famous" line or not, since he in all his honesty didn't know her impact/reach back in 2009. So, Kanye very explicitly asked her about the "I made her famous" line and she did not disagree and even encouraged him to speak his truth so to speak and I believe even said something to the effect of "I can't stop you anyway" acknowledging the artistic freedom he has over his own song and that technically he can do whatever he wants since it's his song. NOW comes the crux and shadiness from Taylor : Kanye being Kanye builds in the "bitch" slur, making "I made her famous" (remember, the line she did get to hear on the phone and comment on, essentially leaving it up to him to use it or not) to "I made that bitch famous". When the song eventually was released, she pretended (in the 2016 Grammy acceptance speech, I believe) to have been blindsided by the song (she frankly might have been by the video, but not the actual lyrics) and how it came to be and pretended the conversation about the song never even took place, which understandably prompted Kim to release the audio of said conversation proving that wait, it did take place and Taylor even got to discuss the song in part line by line (except the "bitch" wording). NB: in the 2016 Grammy speech, where Taylor aired her anger over the song, she did not object to the "bitch" slur. She was more upset at someone taking credit for her work/fame aka the "I made that bitch famous" line. You have to understand that at that point in time, it's actually Taylor trying to taint Kanye's reputation as a misogynist, who according to her is publicly taking credit away from her, albeit on the call she is the one poking fun at feminists "coming after" him (she actually chuckles when she says that). But the reality is that (and that part she willfully omits) she was more in the know about the song's details than she lead everyone on to believe, all while making accusations against Kanye of taking credit for her fame and being blindsided by his song. Again, on the call, she acknowledges her and his perceptions of Taylor's fame differ, but she also acknowledges Kanye has the right to write his own song any way he pleases and given that he can do that it's nice he reached out and at least considered giving her a heads up about a song coming her way, even asking for her opinion on the lyrics (not necessarily asking for permission per se). After the leak of the recording, Taylor suddenly shifted the narrative to the "bitch" slur to be the main point of her frustration, which seemed like almost completely separate argument from the one she initially made in the 2016 speech, which was mainly about a man (Kanye) taking credit away from a woman (her) as she addressed "girls" out there in the world to beware of men taking credit for their talent. Now, you can go on a tangent whether reacting to the "bitch" slur like Taylor did is valid or not. But, for context sake, there is a case to be made that (and I'm not saying I agree with the practice) rappers aren't exactly timid when using slurs and they do it a lot. In fact, I can imagine that that's sometimes even for very banal reasons like evening out lines to make them sound better rhythm or rhyme-wise. Painting his use of the slur as this huge ambush and being surprised by it is not congruent with reality though. Especially, given the much worse lines she learned about on the call, that name calling is almost a moot point. Her shifting the narrative from girls should beware of evil men taking credit for their work to making it all about one slur was designed to decontextualize Kanye's song. I believe, she (understandably) didn't see Kim's receipts/audio record leak coming and had to pivot last minute to making the "bitch" slur center stage in the argument instead of the whole song being problematic like she tried to frame it in the 2016 acceptance speech. I understand both sides and why each side is individually upset (being called bitch isn't great and Kanye should have let her know the exact wording and sent her a finished version of the song prior to release as he promised on the call btw) but blowing it out of proportion (to effectively benefit from it and btw to her luck the me too movement erupted not long after, burying the nuances of fueds like these, as most societal movement tend to do) and willfully ignore context is almost an even more evil move. Kanye is your run off the mill dhead, who looks to namecheck people in his songs which for a rapper is nothing special or particularly new but Taylor to me did something worse and that's lying by omission and completely manipulating the narrative of who knew what when and the intentions behind each move. Had she said "look, me and Kanye talked about this song prior but the way he made the video including a naked way figure of me in there and calling me a bitch wasn't ok but I technically knew about the rest and even had a chuckle with him" I'd be that's fair reason to be salty and balanced reporting on her side. But she did lie and I completely understand Kim's stance and why she thought the actual audio would expose Taylor. To me it did. I'm not a fan of either celebrity. I do however listen to Taylors songs a lot, which doesn't necessarily make me a fan, as I would not go out of my way to go and see her live or spend any money on her merch (just my basic Spotify is all). I don't like Kanye's music at all. This is just to give a background about my allegiance/lack thereof. I think, Taylor is a narcissistic egomaniac, who would walk over dead bodies to reach her goals, but I also acknowledge the brilliance of the body of her work. A terrible person can create great art. In fact, I believe to create art this culturally pervasive, you probably have got to be horrendously selfish and ruthless and that's ok. That's unfortunately what society at times forces, applauds and glorifies. C'est la vie.
