I cannot believe I did this, but I've been experimenting with the translating image functions on google translate, so I decided to look up what those Chinese characters said. These are the characters I got, which I think are right: 約瑟夫. And they actually translate as Joseph, the full name of the boyfriend whose birthday she was referencing at the beginning of the video. So..... I don't know if I count it as a plus that she needed to scatter veiled references to her boyfriend in a music video, especially for a song about a man who's crappy to women - but she (or someone involved in the production) did know what those characters meant. And I officially have too much time on my hands in quarantine.

For once I disagree with all of you guys @The Key Of Awesome. This video was visually stunning in my opinion and also very artistic, I'm not a "Swiftie" but I do like this new version of her, even though I loved the sweet country version too. As an artist they always change and evolve, and grow in their music/acting, etc. I also enjoyed the Thor: Ragnorak reference when she did the lightning thing, it was pretty neat. This video is also her explaining how the media portrays her and such. It's a symbol of her rising up from the image they painted. She also sounds nothing like Ke$ha sooo...okay? Lol.
