Why is that the name? Taylor named her fifth studio album, "1989", after her year of birth, therefore, that was the name given to her forth headlining tour, in support of this album. This idea or always having a surprise guest in this tour was underrated really! Yes it got press but this is so epic! All of them. It is such a nice treat for the audience and hey! props to the band for adding these basically last minute every time as I'm sure the rehearsal time was very short in between shows!
