Taylor Swift’s ‘Tortured Poets' Is ‘More About Matty Healy’ Than Joe Alwyn

Taylor Swift has confirmed that “Fortnight” featuring Post Malone will be the first single off her “The Tortured Poets Department” album, which drops at midnight on April 19. Variety’s music editor Jem Aswad is spilling the Taylor tea with “Extra,” sharing that the album is “much more raw about heartbreak” than any of her previous albums. He also says that the songs are about Joe Alwyn, but “even more about Matty Healy” from the 1975. He was Taylor’s rebound after Joe, before she began dating Travis Kelce.

ESPECIALLY, since she is staying silent after this (but not staying silent for defending that grease racist s*****). I always knew there was something about her, as a person who isn't white, that makes me a shame to like her songs. Now I know why. I thought her album will be about Joe, who I liked and thought was a decent man, out of all her toxic exes, I was about to be in my feels (but it left me vomiting instead). When you realize Taylor Swift has been singing about Matty Healy since Reputation... END GAME You can tell from TTPD that she was really heartbroken over it not working out with Matty after their rekindled romance ~10 years since their first spark ... I believe End Game from Rep is actually about him. Reputation begins the story of two love interests - Joe and Matty. While she's technically in a relationship with Joe, she just can't seem to let Matty go, "[his] handprints on [her] soul." There's probably some sprinklings of him on Lover that I haven't dug into yet, but we all know the Peter Losing Wendy bit from Cardigan and Peter on TTPD are rumored to be about Matty ... Reputation TV will be next so she can officially close the chapter on both of them. And with her song "So High School" being about Travis Kelce, then her self-titled album will be next - taking her back to high school, as it were. Also, her debut album is country and he plays for the Kansas City Chiefs ... Cowboys and Indians LOL Her next new release will be a Lover-themed album about her Travis romance. I listened to the leak and this album is definitely a time capsule almost a vacuum of a short time like when they were breaking up and the whole Matty thing is discussed multiple songs. She overall comes off very unhinged in the lyrics yet I felt something was missing like production wise and maybe that's the style it's very minimal yet has dramatic lyrics which is a confusing experience. The alchemy is definitely about Travis because of plenty of cheesy sports references and it honestly feels try hard. Honestly might be one of Taylor's most mediocre albums. Cowboy Carter will definitely win at the Grammys and if not TTPD definitely won't and if it does just proves the Grammys are rigged!
