Taylor actually does have the vocal capability to work with pop music, she may not have the widest range but she knows how to work with what she's got. Constructive criticism is one thing basically insulting her voice and genre choice is another, and this is coming from someone who isn't a die hard fan. That having been said I personally think this was a risk worth taking, absolutely amazing.

People need to realize that 1. Taylor Swift is the greatest popster of all time. 2. This song is purely fun. This gives us a clue to what the rest of 1989 sounds like. But it's a small clue. This song is made to be fun and encouraging and entertaining and empowering. The lyrics are actually pretty witty, it's just hard to pay attention sometimes due to the song being so upbeat. Let's hold all judgment till the whole album is released. As you can tell everyone watch her in this video are extremely happy and having fun! So was she and that's all that matters.

I wasnt so sure about Taylor Swift going pop. She's very respected because she's more of a song writer rather than singer. I mean she does sing - but she needs to sing because she needs to get the lyrics out. 1989 has been a pretty amazing album. It sounds very retro, pop and vintage. Her fans expects catchy heartbreaking songs with poetry lyrics but nothing in 1989 beats All Too Well or Dear John, lyrically speaking. Maybe the vibe or sound in this new album is more refreshing and definitely pop since this a pure pop album. We'll have to see whether this album will do any good in Taylor's career. Changes can be hard to accept especially when get used to hear some amazing songs from her country style. This album can be the best thing or the worst thing for her.

+ToutPetitCookie I have heard every single thing that Taylor has put out there (including some old unreleased ones) and to tell you honestly I'm not a fan of her. I really liked her music because to me it always sounds so raw, honest and sincere. I haven't found someone who express things in a very detailed ways as a songwriter. Those small things in a relationship, she can understand it very well. I mean who can write a 5 minute song about a freaking scarf in such an emotional way? Only Taylor Swift. Who can talk about a 27 seconds break up in such heartbreaking way? Only Taylor Swift. Who can sing about how she kept up with her old friends to get some news on an old flame/ex without sounding off or dramatic? Only Taylor Swift. That's why her lyrics are so special to me. They felt like a story and more importantly they sounded real, they sounded like it can happen to anyone and there's big chances that you've already experienced it.
