i had my first kiss with this song. she was a swiftie, and she made me listen to the red album. i liked starlight a lot, so when i took her out on a date, i brought my speakers and played this song as we danced in the middle of the amusement park without caring to the world around us. we might not have lasted for so long, but i'm so grateful to her for introducing taylor swift to me. hope you're doing well out there, sab x

There is difference in Original RED (2012) versus Taylor Version (2021). Starlight of 2012 sounded like a Barbie themed song. Starlight of 2021 sounded like more dramatic, more closer, more emotion, and more love. I really love both version. The starlight (2012) is also used in Taylor Swift fragrance and she looks like Barbie girl there. But the Starlight (TV) is more appropriate to be called lovesong. It deserves a music video

This song is so brilliant, especially in the context of the Red album. It feels like the latter half of the album is her looking at her recent experiences of love and heartbreak through different perspectives, and this song comes after a few songs about understanding the painful parts and reminiscing about the happy memories. At this stage she is remembering someone who gave her inspiration to “dream impossible things,” which gets her inspired to live life again. He tells her “look at you, worrying too much about things you can’t change/ you’ll spend your whole life singing the blues if you keep thinking that way.” It’s at this moment that he’s teaching her to let go of the heartbreak and she becomes ready to move on, which she finally talks about beautifully in “Begin Again.” These two songs in particular have helped me move on from heartbreak and become re-inspired to try again. Much love!❤❤

What a dreamy, stellar and marvelous tune! I remember getting to know this song (the original version) from my English Conversation teacher back in High School. He used this song for our English listening exercise.
