She posted an edited video clip of a private phone call which resulted in the entire world “cancelling” Taylor. The hashtag “TaylorSwiftIsOverParty” was literally trending on twitter. Do you know how many people have to use a hashtag for it to be trending? A LOT. Then a few years later, the full video was leaked. It proves not only how Taylor didn’t approve part of the lyrics, but also how Kim edited the clips so they were out of context to make it seem Taylor was cool with everything. Because of all that Taylor moved to London & didn’t do interviews or speak publicly for almost a year. And then when the full video did come out & it proved that Taylor didn’t lie, NO ONE apologized to her. Not Kim, not Kanye, none of the media outlets or news companies that dragged her name through the mud. No one ever said sorry, even after Taylor has said how badly that affected her-it’s still affecting her even today. That doesn’t just go away, even though she overcame it and is insanely more famous now, more so than she was then. But it still cut deep, and it happened. Taylor has every right and reason to still talk about it, because it happened to her, and it affects her still to this day. Plus this song is essentially thanking Kim bc like she says in the song, had that not happened, we wouldn’t have the same Taylor Swift we do today. We wouldn’t have reputation, or many of the songs after. She most likely wouldn’t be *as famous* as she is now. Taylor speaking her truth & letting her bully & her fans know how it made her feel but also how it made her heal, is part of healing. Healing doesn’t happen by keeping it bottled up inside. Taylor has every right to bring it up for as long as she wants, and as many times as she wants to. If Kim has a problem with it, then maybe she should have thought about that before she lied to the entire world while making Taylor look like the bad guy. Maybe she should have apologized when the truth came out. Had that video never leaked, Kim would likely still be playing the victim acting innocent & still calling Taylor a liar. So yeah, that’s how this is “healing”. Kim is still the bully, Taylor isn’t bullying Kim at all, she’s just speaking her truth. She’s letting the world know her side of the story, and what that did to her and how it made her feel about herself. Because, again, part of healing (especially when it comes to dealing with bullies) is letting the bully know what they did to you & how it affected your life & emotional/mental state. It’s learning how to stand up for yourself & let the world know you won’t be pushed around & lied on. How is any of that bullying??? 🙄 She kept it classy imo bc if I were Taylor, I would have been way meaner & I definitely would have said a whole lot more than “thank you” 😏
