I think that's the secret to her longevity. The song writing. She literally does not need anyone to help with that. She invites friends to colab but she's already written the song. Sometimes she would let her collaborators contribute a phrase but that's usually it. Thanks gents for a wonderful reaction. Looking forward to more Taylor reactions.

I think they’d prefer the Disney+ version so they can have a better understanding of the songs. Although some songs, only her real fans know the true meaning regardless of what she might say it is about. She’s only said the REAL meaning of “Bigger than the whole sky”, “”Happiness”, “WSC” possibly once or twice, though. I do miss doing the secret searches in the beautifully designed booklets. It just made it another level of fun for me. She really can do anything that she sets her mind to. Naturally gifted, hardworking, intelligent AF, witty, funny, gorgeous, cute, SO thoughtful, kind, caring, grateful and loyal. She’s truly the sweetest person I have ever seen in the entertainment industry. I hope I can see her perform once but I don’t think so. Like most of us, money is just too tight. It’d mean so much to me - she’s gotten me through so much over the years with her songs. Forever a FAN. 🫶🏼

Taylor really made the pandemic better for a lot of people, by first dropping "folklore" and then "evermore" and then she surprised everyone with her re-record of Red and it had vault songs added to the album all within the space of a couple of years. The vault songs were songs that didn't make the cut on their original album. I live for them.
@shmamycakes

Yesss, please don't forget about the rest of the Folklore album, then came the "Evermore" album... both were complete surprises and they are on both still on my everyday rotation (along with Upchurch and Kenny Chesney)!!! A Swiftie forever, from Colorado; since her 1st radio song, 'Tim McGraw when she was 16! ♥️🤠🔥

"This is me trying" really made me feel heard and understood. Addiction, mental health crisis, wasted potentials, self harm, etc. She did it in Antihero and many other songs. Throughout her discography, I always find puzzle pieces that fit into different aspects of my life. As a guy, I'll never fully know the psychological aspects of girlhood and womanhood. As an ordinary person, I'll never know what it's like to be rich and famous like her. But Taylor still gives me things I can relate to because the running theme in her music is always the universal human experience. She leaves things open to interpretations and it works. She once said her songs are like message in a bottle. Once it's out, her hope is that it will find its way to someone who's going through something similar and let them know that they're not alone. The lyrical content may be very personal and specific, but it's delivered to us like it's made for us and not self serving in any way. A lot of pretentious snobs started to acknowledge her as a true artist after Folklore came out. But she's been doing that since the early years of her career. As you can see, everyone she's ever worked with, the professionals and the long time fans know it. But the snobs and the contrarions just dismiss it or stay in denial because she makes pop music. Another reason for their close mindedness is that she has a fan base largely made up of teen girls and young women (which is partly true but things have changed over the years) It happens to other artists too. It's just that Taylor's case is a glaring example of that kind of prejudice on a massive scale. And of course, the media narratives didn't help either. But in the end, Taylor built a castle out of all the bricks they threw at her. So, shout-out to the people who put all these videos together highlighting some of that in a bite sized format. Anyway, I'm really enjoying your TS reactions so far. Cheers!

Her songs are so personal and are so specific to what she is going through but somehow just like you said, there’s something that she does that allows you to see yourself in her songs and it feels like she wrote it specifically for you. It’s a talent not many can do

"My tears ricochet" from this session is an absolute masterpiece. Recording and writing wise. So many references to discover in the song to her first 6 albums and you can feel the anger and sadness in her singing this to Borchetta, the owner of her first record label who sold her masters.

As a dude that mostly listens to rock (yeah I know the pfp, I also love Twice) bands like Oasis/Alice In Chains/Def Leppard/Whitesnake, etc. I'm not ashamed to say that "This Is Me Trying" has made me cry more than once. I was dealing with a bout of depression during the pandemic and that song plus the rest of her Folklore album really helped me to not feel alone and that it's was ok to cry and as for help. I love how much attention you guys paid to what she says and how easy it is to tell that you guys get her music. You two are really relatable. PS: Her third album Speak Now was released in 2010 (Taylor was 20) and she wrote all of the songs alone, with zero co-writers.

She was born a genius and has always been very special. She was awarded the title of America’s best young poet in the junior category when she was only 10 years old with ‘A Monster in my Wardrobe’ but couldn’t play an instrument back then until her computer broke and her parents a hired technician called to fix it who brought his guitar in the house rather than keep it in his car. He taught Taylor a few chords and then said she could lend it for a few days to practice on. She had already written her first song when he came back and she was thrilled at combining words with music to make both more powerful together than as separate pieces. A songwriter supreme was then born. Sony hired her as a professional songwriter when she was just 14 to work for them. When a new co-songwriter called her for the first time to arrange a time to meet and work together for the company , they were shocked to hear her say she couldn’t do before 4-30 as she had school in the week. Her mum said that she had already written 100 songs before she made her debut at just 16. She was always destined for greatness and is only criticised by those with ignorance of her talents or blinded by jealousy of her glowing, warm personality, that accompanies her everywhere and makes people realise who meet her in person that she truly is just as nice as she appears to be. She changed the face of music and has her rightful place as a music legend already, despite the river of hate that flows her way daily from very sad haters.

I completely agree with Jack. Her songwriting does make her stand out. It's is my favorite thing about her. She can be vulnernable and write about herself or she can create a world that's seperate from her own. Both are written beautifully. Some of the songs are so descriptive that we can visualize a music video for it.

For me Folklore is her best written album, which a lot to say comparing it with the other masterpieces of albums in her discography. Even a more surprising fact is that her third studio album Speak now was completely written by herself and it is an AMAZING album. I love her so much.

With "This Is Me Trying" I believe the song captures her feelings of regret and an attempt to mend the relationship with us her fans. I feel the song is centered on her career and reflections on her past decisions. She talks about having difficulty adapting to the change that has probably taken place in her career. Although she regrets leaving, she wonders if the person (swifties) she left behind still cares about her. These lines could also be a reference to Taylor’s hiatus from music in 2016 where she tried to get away from all the noise about her in the media. She hints that negative speculations rife in the media triggered anxiety issues where she felt like giving up on her limelight lifestyle. It’s lovely to see appreciation for TS! You definitely need to go down TS rabbit hole now lol, you won’t be sorry. Taylor is AMAZING! Can’t wait for me TS reactions 😊

I think why Taylor was getting so emotional speaking about TIMT is bc she has struggled with an ED. She said in Miss Americana that she had to stop looking at photos of herself that the press put out bc she kept looking at her body and wanting to stop eating again, then she has to talk herself down so that she doesn't end up in that place again.
