My female rage has never felt so represented and understood. I did not know I needed a song about this subject, but it came at a perfect time. This song feels like life throws you yet another curveball and you just say: You know what? Why tf not. I'll show you just how crazy I can be. That's what you want right? Are you afraid of what you made me? You should be... I can't stop crying at this song... I am sobbing every time. The emotions this song makes me feel is unlike anything I have ever experienced with music. This represents the final point of breakdown where the chaos of emotions and disappointments become so much it turns into empty nothings and you just sit there smiling like, sure why not. Feeling so much that you feel nothing at all, can make you turn wretched and crazy. It is the perfect combination of sad and angry.

This is also a song going over so many swifties heads. Hear what she is saying and learn to treat Taylor as a human being and not someone you can control and pretend you care about, while picking apart her entire life and criticise her. Such a sad song, but brilliant! Edit: realised some don´t know the history, this song is about many...this song is also clearly about Scooter, Scott, Kimye and all industry men who are scared of her power and have tried countless times to put an end to her career. She is changing the way they used to be able to control things in the industry, so clearly they are very afraid of her power and have been trying to take her down for years. But a part of the fandom are doing the same when punishing her when she doesn´t live up to the narrative you have created in your own mind.

I'm not an enormous fan of Taylor Swift's work, I'm also not a classic demographic for it (39 y.o man from a non-English speaking country), but this is real art. You can hear the bitterness, the hurt, the resentment and anger, but it makes you sympathetic to the story, not repulses you. It touches your heart. And the Music is being built up so well to a climax. I listened to it on the radio while driving and had to immediately find it and listen twice more to feel the song and the creation better. This is great.

Notice when she sings “So tell me everything is not about me But what if it is?” The words disappear with the beat and we’re left with “ IT IS” And in the next line “THEY DID” The answers are given too.What a mastermind!😲

@ellileanor95925 күн бұрын
At the very end of the lyric, "Who's afraid of little old me?" she removes and leaves only "me?", perhaps implying that she's sometimes feeling afraid of herself... Why am I crying over this? :')

@@lisaanderson1146this is solo written. Co-produced with Jack. And not all are cowritten with him, some are with Aaron Dessner (he has 5 songs in the standard edition and 12 on anthology, the rest are with Jack). Taylor has some solo written songs in this album (this, my boy only breaks his favorite toys, the black dog, peter, and the manuscript)

My take on it is that she’s speaking directly to all of us. The fans caused this pain.

That is quite powerful. This is a highly evolved soul. A brilliant truth-teller. Setting boundaries and saying she is and we are all vulnerable and worthy of acceptance and love. She is speaking to all of us while telling her story. A universal message to the world collectively.
