I’m 42 and as I got older, I realized time is just much more valuable to me. I no longer do things I don’t want to do, or capitulate to appease others. Success is no longer measured by dollars, instead with the free time I have to do what I want to make me happy. I remind myself everyday that I’m not going to live forever, so I’m not going to waste another minute of it being upset, bitter, or resentful and instead just be kinder to the people I care about. Life is not much more than that.

I'm 33 now and i definitely agree with what you said about the noticing of getting older. I remember being 27 and traveling so much and experiencing different places (SF was one of the faves), and now that I'm in my 30's, i really value my peace and independence! But yes, as you grow older your taste matures and you grow so comfy in your skin and the simple things that makes you happy.

Gosh, I'm in my 40s and it still feels unreal sometimes. Like I woke up one day and my hair's more silver and our kids bigger. "Where did all the time go" is a question that pops up every now and then. I have grown and changed so many times but one thing I didn't expect to feel is... heck, I'm pretty proud of myself and the life I've built. 💜 I'm a fan, Taylor! I really enjoy your vlogs Taylor, they showcase your optimistic yet practical spirit, and have a great blend of whimsy and reflection in them. When I visited SF last year it didn’t blow me away, but seeing it through your eyes makes me appreciate what a gorgeous city it is - how much life and beauty there is. Seeing Salt & Straw brought back memories: that’s the best ice cream in the world. Both for interesting flavours, I had something that tasted rich and savoury and umami and so unlike any ice cream I’d had before - but also the best memory because of the server that gave me my second scoop for free when he overhead me lamenting to my companion how australia doesn’t have Salt & Straw and I loved it so. How wonderful to have experienced such a moment of simple joy and kindness, and be reminded of that positive uplift in your video.

That place you sat overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge discussing age brought back memories. I first visited San Francisco as a teen with my parents in 2007, and I mainly talked with my brother about which parts of the city look like San Fierro in GTA San Andreas lol. Fast forward 10 years and I was on a California road trip with my fiancé, revisiting everything but with a completely different lense and mature appreciation of life. I also visited a few months ago, now with my wife of 7 years and aging parents. That vista you were at just really hit me with all the memories across the years and how much time passes but simultaneously the appreciation I have for getting older.

Another great video! I was in San Francisco this past week and loved the weather. It was nice to be somewhere that was in the 60s and sunny compared to NYC which is pretty cold right now. It was interesting to hear you talk about how you notice that you're getting older. I'm in my early 40s now and didn't really feel old until I was around 38-40. The best part of getting older is that you care less and less about what others think about you. You feel more confident in yourself and just know more - it's awesome despite the gray hairs which are annoying haha. Can't wait to hear about your trip to Lisbon. Portugal is a beautiful amazing country. Btw, I saw that you were holding a book on the plane. What book is it? I'm always looking for great book recs! Happy Holidays!

Yeah the aging process only gets more noticeable the older you get lol. I really do fight against it and I recommend everyone do the same. When you’re pushing 40 and younger 20 something’s at work think I’m their age, it really does remind me that my efforts are paying off. As Bryan Johnson says- “don’t die”.

I totally get you. I traveled around the world when I was 28. Best time ever. But spending one month in Australia with 18-22 year olds was strange. I could adapt to it for a few weeks but it was not the same. Now I’m fu**ing 40! And live with my husband and two kids in France. 😅sometimes I feel still like the 28 me but in general yes things have changed and you enjoy other things. Hi, what a great surprise that you were in the SF bay area. First off, props!! for including the Shins, New slang as your music bed in this vlog. great choice and again a great SF vlog. Getting older isnt quite so bad (i'm 45) and I use my immediate family as a reference to how much time has gone by.
