@@peevee605 its definitely crazy, ive got one thats been sitting in its box waiting for me to finish funding a build, but i was impressed when researching different trems- gotoh made the original Edge for ibanez along with a lot of other hardware, and i asked around some ibanez groups, and apparently its pretty spot-on to the edge minus having less mass due to a lighter baseplate. But it’s like half the price of an OFR or a schaller, yet still rock solid. Havent tried it yet but its reassuring to see some solar sigs choosing to use it. And the latest non-sig, the A1.6ASSASSIN i think it was called, which is surprising

A bit of relief in the neck helps if you record a lot. Trouble with going flat and low is while it plays really nice, you tend to get at least some problems, somewhere of notes choking out or buzzing etc. Rather than trying to perfect that, I've personally just found it easier to put a little relief, and have the action slightly higher than what I would like. All problems gone.

Solar normally uses FR 1000s. 3 of of my 5 Solar 1.6 guitars have FRs and they’re all 1000s. The guitar itself looks balanced on your leg sitting down. I have an E1.6 FBB. Same balance sitting down and that’s my first and only Evertune equipped guitar. It’s great for playing in the studio and live and for such an aggressive looking guitar ? It plays cleans awesomely well. Cheers from NZ 😎🎸🤘

I also wish the controls were well behind the trem bar, and I wish the Push/Pull volume for the Fishmans was a regular volume with a mini toggle for the voice switching. That just seems less likely to get bumped down to me. Lastly, I was warming up with my own Solar when I clicked your video.

As far as i know, solar has never changed their neck shape, just occasionally changed the term it’s described with. Not sure though, since ive only ever played my 2018 evertune E1.6. Glad to see they have a 24-fret/25.5” floyd X1.6 and 24-fret/26.5” floyd X1.7 now, but im a bit sad since theyre (legally-distinct) dimeslime and not matte black or white. 24.75” was a bad idea for me because i quickly found out bridge cables frustrate me. Bjorn might be able to make bridge cables work on his les paul for in flames, but i gave myself tendonitis a couple years ago trying his set (foolishly, i didnt account for his gibson scale, and put it on 25.5”, making tension WAY too high) over time i started to dislike how the bottom of the E shape makes the body stick out in classical position. I tried a V in a shop once and it clicked to me that an X would be perfect for me ergonomically. I waited hanging onto hope ever since that teaser back view pic, but i was so disappointed when i found out that 24.75” would be the standard scale for Xs that i started a custom build instead. An ibanez RGD320Z neck (26.5”, floyd) and im gonna order a star destroyer body for it from Five Alarm Guitars, and put the GE1996T ive got in it. Though if Ola ever drops a black or white 24-fret/26.5” floyd 7 in black or white, im probably gonna get one. I may just get the dimeslime 7 and try to repaint it…
@edgyswordsmanmanga40514 ай бұрын
To elaborate on ergonomics: the bottom of the E shape sticking out just makes it feel like the neck is further out, because it kinda is, and i also like how a V bottom wraps around the leg in classical position. But i had to brace it with my legs to hold it up… an X would have an explorer horn, and thus another point of contact, making it sit easier. Best of both worlds i guess.
