Hey Gabe, I recently got my hands on a Callaway Ai Smoke mini driver and it's been a game changer. I haven't hit the TM but suspect it would be very similar. The back nine on my local course is very tight and I've found myself losing 2-3 drives/round in the woods until I got the mini driver. It might be increased confidence but I've been hitting almost all fairways and shooting better scores as a result. The mini driver is only about 10-15 yards less than my full driver so not a huge difference. I've been carrying both drivers and use the mini on all the holes with small fairways.

Very nice! I’m going to be testing that one soon.

Great Video. Thank you for teeing the ball like a driver, not a fairway wood. I have seen so many videos, from all of the so called experts who all tee it so low, with minis, that it’s really like hitting it off the deck. I think the distance gained with the Copper BRNR is due to the higher loft of 13.5°. And the Flex Face helps both newer minis with dispersion. I’ll keep my SLDR Minis, with upgraded shafts, since that stock TM shaft is not good. Thank you!

Have the 2014 mini driver in 16 degree, doesn’t miss fairways, good height and works well from the fairway.

4th option should include a regular 12deg driver with a shortened/3wood shaft?
@atamagashock6 ай бұрын
Not really the same… mini is 2/3 the size. 150 cheaper too. I have the new burner mini and the qi10 core. Haven’t put a 3 wood shaft in it, cause I’d need a lot of weight to add to the head to do so. I cranked my 13.5 all the way down and it’s a badass machine
@jamessimms94074 ай бұрын
Would also throw the balance/weight of the head on a driver making it harder to strike the ball consistently.

I play the sldr s mini. When testing a mini, turf interaction is more important than distance. The sldr s has excellent turf interaction and can easily replace a driver and 3 wood.

I have one of the Taylormade Aeroburner white crowned with red graphics mini driver with 14* loft, Taylormade stiff shaft at about 75 grams at 44” length and no adjustability. It hits a mile, but think it would work better with about 12.5* loft. The cc volume is about 250cc. Picked mine up for about $59.00 at a pawn shop.

Got the original one mini driver when it came out in 2019-2020. It’s incredible! Drive green on short par 4s all the time with it.

Well darn, I’ve been happy with my 300 Mini. Now, I feel like the meme photo with the guy walking with his girl, sneaking a peak at a hot girl they just passed. What am I missing out by missing this BRNR?…..thanks a lot, Gabe.

Well, I think this video proved that the 300 mini holds its own. That dispersion was really nice.

Want a mini driver so bad but need to find a good second hand deal. I’m a uni student so can’t afford to be getting anything brand new, but they seem so rare :/

I think more than anything else Gabe, this shows that you ought to consider playing more loft on your Driver. It might be interesting if you tried lofting up your Ping a bit and seeing how it compares here.

It’s certainly worth a shot

To that end, going to 12 degrees (and dropping down to 43.5") a few weeks ago has been a gamechanger for me. I haven't lost any distance, and my dispersion has definitely tightened up.

I have the 300 mini, the 2023 BRNR Mini and the 2024 TM Mini. The 2023 and 2024 are no different in performance for me. Exact same club in my view except for cosmetic changes. The 300 is an excellent club and very close to the 2024 model. Gabe, your results really were close with the 300 and the 2024 mini as well. Maybe a few more yards with the new model but not much in it in my view.

Yes, I believe the 2023 / 2024 was simply a new paint job. Sneaky!!

Im now curious what the difference would be with a 3 wood vs the mini driver. Also swap those shafts to the 300 and mini and see the results.

On the 24' model, Is that the same old UST ProForce from like 20 years ago? Or did they upgrade it? That itself is another addition to the throwback look. Those shafts pretty much meant you were a professional back in the early 2k's lol
@LetsPlayThru6 ай бұрын
That I’m not sure of, but worth researching further
@beranbr12 күн бұрын
The UST ProForce shaft that is in the TM BRNR Mini is an upgraded version of the older shaft. The new one utilizes the new M40X high tensile modulus carbon fiber just like the UST Lin-Q shafts. Being that it is a made for TM shaft, there is probably less of the M40X but certainly a different shaft than the old school ProForce.

@marlon04156 ай бұрын
Great info…. As a follow up, I’d like to request that on the 2024….. if you can do a test at the different loft adjustments on the same club. That will be great info to us mere mortals who just wants to buy off the rack clubs
@jasonvandyke81426 ай бұрын
Good idea - if I was to go the mini-driver route, I expect it would be a full-on driver replacement. Based on these numbers, seems like Gabe could turn the 2024 down to 11.5 degrees and be right up there with his normal driver. I'd be scared to try and use any of them off the deck even at 13.5 degrees unless I had a perfect lie in the fairway. Tee it up at 11.5 and let if fly!

Have you thought of comparing a mini driver to the Callaway Hawk Eye Driver at 250cc head and chock down so shafts are the same length.

The dispersion has to do with the shaft and if you had a more consistant swing then this would be a better test.
@rickhammel95415 ай бұрын
you should work on loosening up your wrists to create some more lag in your swing. You're not really snapping the club into impact, and you should be swinging well over 100mph. I swing my mini driver around 115 and it looks like I'm barely swinging because of the lag I create.

These prices are so ridiculous even older
@NathanMiller-p3o6 ай бұрын
I agree
@lawrencebogar61362 ай бұрын
The dispersion was more operational error. You were not swinging the way that you do on the course. You were swinging so hard that you lost your balance.

I've played and owned the SLDR, The Original, the 300 Mini, and now the BRNR. The BRNR is by far the best of the bunch. Longer and more forgiving. Also more adjustable than previous versions.
@archiegrimshaw93683 ай бұрын
How does it compare to the original one? Longer sounds like it’d be less forgiving? I want the BRNR but can’t afford it really whilst I’m at uni
@richdouglas23113 ай бұрын
@@archiegrimshaw9368 I've played four versions, and this one is by far both the longest and most forgiving. Also, it is adjustable (loft and weights). So, you can play it like a driver, like a fairway wood, or somewhere in-between. I play it in-between since it replaces my 3-wood. It is remarkable how much better it is than even the most recent version, the 300.
@jaycombs50616 ай бұрын
Is it more a factor of the shaft causing the issue with the $99 club?
@LetsPlayThru6 ай бұрын
I don’t think to a huge degree, at least not in terms of forgiveness. When struck well with similar swings speed, it goes about the same distance. It’s just that it sprays a bit more.
