After spending a lot of time on the launch monitor I decided on the Mizuno ST Max driver and saved myself $200.00 versus the Taylor Made, Ping and Callaway. Performance for me was pretty much the same for all 3 but I tended to hit more fairways with the Mizuno. My club head speed tends to be around 90mph. Not too bad for a 70 year old!

Thanks for an honest review. If all being equal if we don’t change or improve our swings there’re only minor improvements. What I’ve noticed with the better player KZbin reviewers their average carry is the same as previous years so that again proves no matter what your HCP is unless you improve the driver only provides minor yardage/ accuracy. Keep up with the great honest work.

Another great video mate. You must love this time of year. I got the Ai smoke last year and love it. Not sure how much technology can move on in 12 months and have big gains for players of our abilities. Really do enjoy these comparison videos and actually educating me on trackman cos I have no idea how to use it when I do 😂
@TheAverageGolfer16 сағат бұрын
No great changes at all, you are right about understanding Trackman, I think if you are being custom fit it is good to have some basic knowledge so you understand what you are achieving rather than just focus on how float it goes

@@TheAverageGolfer interesting seeing. Your launch angles there. At my fitting he wanted to get more launching it around 14 degrees. I was launching it too high and too spinny before hand

I and many others do not spend £600 on a new driver every year. Usually the new clubs "upgrades" are an extra 3-5 yards or 2% better dispersion. Not worth an extra £300-£400 in my opinion. Iv been buying and selling as a hobby for about 2 years now I love picking up bargains. Bought and sold my way to a FREE complete PXG set up. Including limited edition bag, gen 5 driver and 3 wood, black ops 5 wood, gen5 4/5 hybrids a gen6 7 wood. I also made enough cash to have a PXG fitting for Xcor2 irons and rounded out the set with a Batattack 2 with M16 shaft. Remember this has worked out so far completely FREE. I'll gradually swap out the Gen5 for black ops this year and move the Gen5 stuff to a bag I put together to leave at my brothers in Spain. While I wait for Black ops to drop more in price or simply get superlucky as I did with the black ops 5 wood (£125) iv started on a second bag picking up some Honma TRX21's and some Costco wedges (£110) after voucher discount. For me it's more of a hobby to try and put together FREE full bags. Keeps me occupied lol. Currently I have more stuff to sell to free up the cash to buy more stuff I want. Selling Cobra LTDX LS driver and Sub 70 699 V2's among other stuff. Everything mentioned above has put me in the hole for about the same £600 as one of the 2 clubs in this vid. Hopefully in another year or so that will be zero pounds for 2 full bags for myself and a holiday bag of clubs left at my brothers in Spain. I hope I made my argument against spending £600 ish on the latest driver and instead offered good reasons to wait a year or two and pick up some bargains. PS shout out to Jon and Ash at Stacked Golf (youtubers) for giving me the inspiration to flip clubs. Hope the average golfer doesn't mind this small shout out. And a late happy new year to all.

I gamed the QI 10 for most of last year and traded it in for a ping 430 10K and couldn't be happier, TaylorMade and all these other companies including ping would have to do show me something amazing to have me change out of what I now have finding more Fairways than I have in a long time.

Really good video as usual! 👍 The differences between brands appears to be smaller than ever these days and this video backs that up. Lots us feel that there's little gain to be had buying a new driver when last year's models are now much cheaper...if only we had an average golfer to do a direct test?! 😉

😂 I can confirm without a video that the difference between this year and last will be minor changes is data but ball speeds no different
@robinc330715 сағат бұрын
Most reviews that have been comparisons have shown the Callaway has a touch more ball speed and launches around a degree or more higher....resulting in about a 4-5 yard gain.... But I'm sure with a bit of weight or head manipulation I'm sure they could be made to perform the same

Biggest thing qi35 needs to deliver over qi10 is less spin. I got fitted for a 10.5 qi10 but was never 100% happy with it swapped to a 9 degree head and got much better numbers. Dropped about 300 revs and launch was in a similar window. Tried cranking the 10.5 head down but didn’t like the look at address

The video is truthful and accurate for what the clubs are. But nothing we see here for numbers is anything any greater or even different than what we have seen before. Actually some of the previous drivers tested on this channel have gone at least 10 yards further, so to spend all that money just to have the latest and greatest is really not worth it. Bottom line… You’ve got to hit the ball correctly to get proper results, if you got a driver that’s working that is 2 to 7 years old. Hang onto it and don’t waste your money.

Great video Andy, a question that I have do you see any great difference in the 2 drivers and the SIM2 and Epic Speed of 2021 era? I have one of each, Epic bought for £90 and the SIM2 was a Prize. Both have the same after market driver shafts. My carry is 225yard and totals are 250-265 yards. Both have 8 grams of tape to make slightly more draw bias, swing weight D4. I am looking at the club head speed ( same) distance ( same), so this the 2025 issued drivers more accurate ?

I love the look of the qi35 look , they have that grey but also a jet shiny black coming out as well but I will say that I have this feeling that Taylor Made shuffled some funds around and are not paying a lot of Creators secretly that test these clubs , just something a little different I’ve noticed this year and it’s just a slyness. I’m not saying you personally

@ I’m sure I’m wrong just a feeling I got from a couple different vids , but I can’t knock it , it’s all in the game but I will say Taylor Made sometimes scares me with drivers , I love their clubs I’ve played but the stealths were 1 not the most forgiven and 2 faces cracking , I feel like they pay for top athletes , hype and looks 1st and any smaller great brands they buy out and shelf or buy in and control , we will see where Tacoma goes cause that’s my next guess is Taylor made and Tacoma do biz or already do. I’m just crazy is all. Great vid
