Loved Taylormade but will change brand now, bought the spider putter copper last year Black Friday, Good deal. March 22 shaft picked up rust but they won't change it. So will look at Odyssey now.

I had a spider X and then a spider EX last year and before them and an Evnroll ER2 for 4 years. All amazing putters UNTIL I got remotely custom fit for a L.A.B. DF 2.1 putter last summer. 32 inches and 63° lie angle. Forward press grip. Amazing ZERO TORQUE lie angle balanced design is so natural and smooth. It looks like a branding iron BUT I got over the looks very fast. No manipulation of having to keep the square at impact especially on short putts ! Love the looks, design and technology of this SPIDER GT especially with the short slant hosel I would definitely get it with the light gray in the middle ……..BUT I just can’t seem to justify another $300 or so putter after spending $538 last year on my LAB !!!

@@jeffc1736 couldn’t get over the looks of the branding iron. Sold it on eBay. Went for a custom fit on SamPutt lab at club champion and ordered an odyssey eleven tour line slant neck. Customized lie angle and loft. White hot face is amazing.

I found, with my spider, that I had to get used to standing further away from the ball. With my last blade-style putter, I was more right over it with my eyes. Can't really do that with this IMO. Should I get a shorter/different shaft if I wanna go back to being right over the ball?

I putt so much better with my spider putter NOT being right over the ball... I have the black DJ Style original Spider. Such a damn good putter. Like DJ I don't think I'll ever give it up. It has changed my putting game. Such a unique ground-breaking design the original TM Spider.. I prefer it much more than the one in this video Aesthetics wise. This new one though, may be EVEN better and more stable even though I don't prefer the looks as much.. I will have to hit some putts with it.

I have an odyssey white hot two ball. Most putter shaft angles are stock at 70° if I’m not mistaken. I like to be right on top of the ball so the total would be down in the ground and the heel would be up in the air. I found a place that Ben’s putter shafts professionally. Paid them about 10 bucks to bend my putter more upright by 2°, now the putter sets a little bit more flush to the ground. Look into it

@@JacOb-tj8zs Good for you... I need to get that done on mine but the opposite way I wonder if bending a putter shaft is harder/different from bending an iron shaft... I bet you love that putter now it sits flush to the ground? like I said I'm the opposite of you so my toe is in the air just a bit. I do make quite a lot of putts with my TM original tour black spider DJ though. Btw, If you ever see a zoom in on Dustin Johnson's Spider putter HEAD, he does the same thing you used to do. His heel is always in the air a tad. At least on his practice strokes. Also about bending putter shafts-I've noticed that Rickie Fowler's putter *shaft* is bent VERY much flat like I prefer. See if you notice that next time you see Rickie or DJ putting. Cheers

I like my spider ex except that it’s 4 months old only though it looks older than my 18 years old Ping anser !! All the painting is going away. Which is not acceptable for a putter of that price. I do not think I’ll ever buy again a Taylormade putter.

That specific model is $349.99 with 4 color ways, they do have it as a “MySpider” design for $420. So there should be a wide range of custom options on their website.

They look amazing but I had the one before it and the quality was awful paint comes off chips and bubbled underneath . Sent it back to Taylor made which says it gives 2 year warranty on all clubs what a joke , they had it for 3 months and told me it was wear and tear. Guys don’t buy it not worth it.
