@@vae3716 I think it's not only about the complexity. No matter how basic her "chords" and voice are, her music had inspired, and keeps on inspiring people of different ages, culture, nationalities, etc. Many know her songs, even jam to some of them, even if they are not fans. and this has been going on for many years. and in my opinion, that's the reason why she deserves that award. :)

@@jordgaudetmusicil agree with you on the reverb part.. she is in a theater after all, which is designed to produce reverb, hence the noticeable short reverb on her voice (listen to the last line of the first part of the last chorus). Dear Taylor, I can remember when I was in 6th grade I just loved "love story" so much, that even though I didn't understand the meaning, I knew each and every lyric. Each stage of my life I always loved your songs. Be it "You belong with me", "bad blood", "blank space" they all reminds me of my teenage years. I just loved the songs back then, but now I not only love your songs I adore you so much. I didn't even realize I was becoming a complete swiftie. I love you because past years you were my inspiration, you played your part through your songs to make me who I am today.I am thankful you beautiful soul! And now that I am 22 I just want to conclude this letter singing: "I don't know about you But I'm feeling 22 Everything will be alright if You keep me next to you You don't know about me But I'll bet you want to Everything will be alright if We just keep dancing like we're 22, 22" Thank you Taylor Swift! Yours sincerely, A 22 years old Swiftie.❤️

@@joe22589 ear-pieces are used usually in concerts where the audience/bg music is loud. The artist wouldn’t be able to hear themselves and the earpiece helps them so they hear and won’t miss a note singing. Luckily, the audience in this video was quiet so Taylor doesn’t need it.

There's a monitor on the floor in front of her. You really can't sing live without some type of monitoring. You won't be able to hear yourself sing, this is why sometimes you see singers put one hand on their ear when singing live. If you plug one ear you can hear your own voice much clearer, even in a loud place. Try it just while talking and you'll see what I mean.

Her acoustic performances are always my favourites. She's a fantastic storyteller. I don't know why Aretha Franklin shaded her when asked for her opinion of Taylor. She said "nice dresses". Fair enough, Aretha will forever be The Queen of Soul. But Taylor deserves credit for her songwriting prowess. She's definitely in the vein of notable female singer-songwriters such as Dolly Parton and Joni Mitchell. I like her and I'm not ashamed to say it. ❤️
@julie1234046 жыл бұрын
Ronnie Jet really not a far stretched comparison when you look at it from a songwriting perspective. Joni Mitchell and Taylor Swift are both known for their songwriting and music that ultimately transcends the limits of one specific genre. Not to mention so much of their respective discographies focus on love/breakups. Of course Joni Mitchell is probs one of the greatest songwriters ever, it’s definitely not outlandish to compare her and Taylor. Also, she didn’t stop the biotopic because Taylor was *rumored* to be playing Joni, she stopped the biotopic because she felt the book the biotopic was based on made a lot of assumptions about her and that the only reason they were considering casting Taylor was to make up for the lacking script.

This might be the best uptempo song she's ever written. It perfectly marries those one note melodies of pop with the storytelling of country music and the lyrics themselves fit together seamlessly; without being too rhyme-y or cliché. The verses are extremely word-dense for a pop song, but they have so much imagery and there are no unnecessary words. The prechorus and chorus are reliably repeated so you can sing along to most of it after one listen. The bridge is a chant that can be easily harmonized and looped back live; which she did while performing it live on tour. After she sings the end of the first chorus, you can tell she's really proud of this one and she should be. All her previous songwriting experience accumulates and she hits the lyrical nail on the head. And all while giving the middle finger to the media in a creatively tongue-in-cheek way. No one does it quite like Taylor.

I would kill for a tour where it's just Taylor and three instruments on stage: piano, electric guitar, acoustic guitar. I would sell a kidney on the black market to get into that show.

Just found this version, it’s now my favourite!!!!!! The lyrics have so much more impact with the instruments stripped back to just her guitar!!!! Love ❤️
