I was out to dinner with a group of friends when the subject of a man's bitter divorce came up. This one woman... cute for late 40s, twice divorced, a school administrator and apparently on the prowl for #3.... said "I wonder who won?" All the women at the table cackled. I assume she was referring to custody and the finances, so my response was "I tell you who didn't win... their children." All the men and a few married women nodded in agreement. Majority of the women rolled their eyes are frowned. Later on this same woman started lamenting about not being able to find a good man. I guess being twice divorced didn't tip her off to the reality of her situation, so I said "We're out here... but we're hiding from woman who think of relationships as a competition. We want a partner, not an adversary." Turns out one of the couples had invited this woman to dinner specifically to meet me. It didn't go the way they had hoped.

I don't associate with my friends' wives as they always go about attacking you at whatever the social event is.
