Benin Republic is a small country on another level, a 3 hours drive from Lagos.. It is the definition of peace and tranquility. I love the old architectural designs, though the city doesn't really speak luxury but you can see that they pay attention to details. The country is clean and driving in this country is too sane that I was almost getting uncomfortable LOL. I have visited the country 3 times this year. Once I can't hold the Naija stress, I just take the 3 hours drive to cool my mind. I did some reviews of lovely places to visit there. You can check it out. . LOL But all in all. Well done Tayo you are doing a nice job. I can confidently say nobody does it better

@@Cleo1John It's ok to ask questions. Please feel free to ask there is Benin City in Nigeria. Benin City is the capital of Edo. Its made of up of a tribe with rich culture and people. Benin Republic on the other hand is a country. It is Nigeria's closest neighbor to Nigeria. It shares a border with Nigeria in Lagos. I made several videos on my last visit to benin Republic. Kindly subscribe I will be uploading more
@seismicvertigo3453 жыл бұрын
@@Cleo1John Leke above has explained accurately. In addition, there are two Benins. One to the geographical left of the Yorubas in Nigeria and one to the right of the Yorubas, within Nigeria. The geographical coastal left of the Yorubas, the Yoruba coast itself, and the geographical coastal right of the Yorubas were, by Europeans, termed collectively, the Bight of Benin. On the left is now a country Benin Republic, named after that Bight supposedly, in the center are the Nigerian Yorubas, and on the right is the historical Benin empire, afterwhich the entire bight was named. Hope that helps.

I'm a Ghanaian that was born in Benin and schooled there at the famous Ekinous Bilingual Schools (which I'd like you to visit when next you go there...) and I was always travelling to Nigeria and I even stayed in Aja Illaje(Ikota) for some months. I stayed in Togo for some months too and now I'm back to my country Ghana ❤... My point is: we are distinguished by our various nationalities, languages, but the culture and our way of life is very similar... I wish you could visit the main capital of Benin which is Porto-Novo... You'll know that you're in a different country because of the serenity and fast movement of the traffic, but you'll still think you're in Nigeria because you'll meet one Yoruba person every 10 metres you walk... Nice video though ⚡... Too bad I saw it today 😢

I lived in Benin for 3 good years and the good news is I met my husband in Cotonou as well. Benennoise are very hospitable and peaceful. There are loads of affordable hotels if you know your way around a place called John K. As you earlier said about the boarder, Nigerians part of the boarder is an eye sore. You will even see out uniform men physically fighting each other and drunk at the boarder. It’s a shame that nothing has changed since the 80s that I was there.

I was in Benin Republic in Cotonou in the early 90s from Lagos on a working visits and again in 2002-03 from UK where I have been sojourned for nearly three decades. I am thinking of retiring now and Lagos has recently been unattractive due to the current socio-economic & political intrigues. I have been thinking of Cotonou, a quiet, clean and peaceful location very close to Lagos outside Nigeria to invest in a very decent property in a top notch area and have my peace of mind. Fly into Lagos once in a while to attend events and family. I then saw this video that confirms my thought process. Thank you Tayo.

@Ayomide Ahmed, I know all the Western States like the back of my hand including Ondo state where my late mother hails from. When you get to the stage in life that I am at the moment where I can see 60 around the corner, jumping into a car 🚗 to attend to business or function in Lagos after experiencing transportation in Europe for over three decades is unappealing. For me Abeokuta is next location. If there was a fast, safe modern train link to Ibadan perhaps but ideally what is needed is a circular, regularly train that goes from Lagos to Ikorodu to Sagamu to Abeokuta back to Lagos. That will probably decongest Lagos. Irrespective of whatever is on the ground, for me safety & power (electricity) comes first and I am not convinced we have that yet in the South West.

Loved this Video, well done to African youtubers, you are the spear tip to getting our continental tourism industry to flourish, African governments have ignored Domestic tourism for various reasons, but it is no longer acceptable, African tourism is the way forward to create African unity and job security. It will expand economic activity within our own control and eventually force our governments to better manage. I am looking forward for the days when young and old African tourists can move around Africa in large numbers, that will bring costs down.and efficiency will have to go up. All those impediments like excessive road blocks, and high transport and accommodation charges will be gone.we will spend our money in the continent supporting each other.

Tayo, can't wait for you to cover Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia... As a Nigerian resident in the UK for over 20 years, I've had enough of travelling to European or American destinations... Its time to see our motherland properly. Am especially interested in these three countries because I've met several of their citizens and they seem to be nice people. 🙌🙌

Tayo well done for sharing this amazing tour of Benin 🇧🇯. I like the way you talked about our shared cultures and how you did not frown upon their local beliefs. Something we (All Africans) need to appreciate. Our differences is what connects us. Well done brother. Keep up the good work 👏

Benin is a beautiful country however the problem is it easily gets overshadowed by Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal & Ivory Coast. One suggesting is, Nigerians show your brothers & sisters next door more attention and patronize their country.

A lot of imported Cars come into Nigeria from Benin ports though deemed illegal, this can be regulated to help both countries, Because it is cheaper. But Nigeria would rather be a bigger asshole than support her sister. But i agree their bigger neighbors should do better in patronizing them

Great video bro. I wished I had gone to some of those places u mentioned. I visited Benin from Canada and the most amazing thing was the peace and absence of crime. I saw so many women selling on the streets at night alone and walking alone sometimes on dark streets. I asked the person I was with about crime and he said it was non-existent basically. Totally amazing when it comes to that. I also visited the temple of pythons - hundreds of them.

I passed through Benin when travelling to Togo last month and like you said it is very clean, road network good as well unlike our country. If you now go to Togo, omg its cleaner and their food is amazing as well. I will definitely visit Benin soon to explore as well. Great job Tayo

Must you say unlike our country?. It's not even as developed as Nigeria. Always degrading their country. You traveled through not that you went to the country

Never been to Benin republic but this journey really brought back memories of my amible french teacher from my sec school FGGC 101. He came to Nigeria all the way from Benin republic. We call him "computer" can't recall his real name.( because of how enthusiastic/zealous he was in teaching french and marking our script. NB french is always the first script we receive after examination). That sparked my interest in learning french but dropped halfway when he left..will be happy if I could visit the country one day and probably meet him. Be sure to add that citizens of Benin republic are very receptive/accomodative as he demonstrated that throughout his stay....
