I really love all the expressions and movements in this! They capture the characters’ emotions SO WELL. Like when Taako hits Barry with that spell and realizes what he’s done afterwards- the way it feels like he’s throwing his wand away from himself speaks so well to the horror he must’ve felt at the moment, after killing a “stranger.” And when he’s pointing the umbra staff at Lucretia and yelling! You really pulled out every bit of the fury and grief with your art. I also love the moment when it shows the split-screen of Taako and Lucretia after he lowers his staff, because through the anger and sadness, you can see the regret and longing on their faces. Because, they’re still family, and they love each other so much, and they must hate this new divide between them. (Like it says in the song about a split that won’t recover.) Lastly, I really like that this animatic focuses on Lucretia and Taako, because I feel like there was a very interesting relationship there. I think that the two of them are much more alike than it seems on the surface- they are both incredibly smart and and they both have this outer layer that people need to get through to really get to know them. And I especially feel like they can both do difficult things and make sacrifices for the ones they love. The one difference is that Taako would give the world to be with the people he loves, and Lucretia would let the people she loves go for the sake of the world. All in all, I love the dynamic you’ve portrayed between them here, and your artwork is such an incredible way to show it. Fantastic job!

so this is like my fifteenth time watching this (i'm in LOVE) and I just now realized this: you show Lup and Taako being terrified and ashamed of their creations, but then you show them turning to each other, and finding solace with each other. like their relationship is enough to combat the horror outside. and then you show LUCRETIA, and how right below them she's taking their lives away without them knowing, and her taking away that COMFORT that they had. and then we see Taako and his anger (beautifully animated, btw) and of COURSE he feels that way, cuz he was FINE, he didn't need her choosing to forget FOR him, he had LUP, and she took it away. anyway, i just think this is the best storytelling i've seen in a TAZ animatic and I give major kudos to you. just FANTASTIC.

See this is interesting because it seems like Lucretia thought she was doing Taako a favor by making him forget about his twin sister because she DID go missing, so maybe to Lucretia she was offering him a sort of sympathy
