I can see young women with hairloss really going for these pieces if they have a healthy bank balance. Most older women like myself have probably had their fill of battling flat hair and are delighted to sport a wig with a reasonable amount of permatease! You look good in both by the way Taz.

I have to say, I really prefer the original Julianne on you, as I suspect I would do on me as well. I like lift and volume on top and especially a lifted, more contoured front. The Lite one looks very flat , like one got caught in the pouring rain… 🤭 I get the special cap features on the new Lite collection, but as for looks only, I’m a much bigger fan of more voluminous styles. Great comparison and highlighting of the differences! ❤️

I love my volume too!! This is great to know before you buy isn't it?! On the LITE piece I have here, there is zero potential for lift and volume due to the fine texture of the fiber and the light density. XOXO

Thanks for the very informative review. The curl pattern is so different, it is hard to focus on the density. I do better with less density. I think the ear to ear lace gives you more styling options but I can see you would have to glue it down. So it might be worth it for a piece you were going to fiddle with for an updo or wedding hair, but not so much if you want a quick shake and go. I would love to see how it works on someone with no hair. Another great option. Love how the manufacturers are stepping up their game.

I just love Julianne, period! I've owned three of them and am now searching for one in Martini. I'm not sure I would spend the extra for the Lite version unless I found a great deal in the right color, necessarily. I sort of prefer the regular one's curl pattern you showed for myself. Julianne and January are my very favorite Jon Renau styles, though Kendall is a close third now that I have one.

Watching both the Juilliane Lite & another wavy lite one (I forget the name at the moment) by Jon Reneau. Why? I live in SW Florida…and it’s hot 🥵, I swim , and have a larger head. This seems more versatile to fit my head. Also, I have longer bio hair now that I’ve not been to a hairdresser in a couple of years (Covid advise from doctors). These are 1. Lighter weight for less of a hot wool hat feel 2. Father reaching more believable extended lace front. Am working on best glues…going for a stronger one called Got To Be Glued to stick better (they slide off after a few hours). 3. The Venice blonde looks rooted. I’m great, but think this might work with that as it’s pretty light. I normally go with a beige blonde 👱🏽‍♀️ but without hair coloring it’s grey now at the temples. May just cut the bulk out like you do, it looks so carefree ! Admire all the work you obviously 🙄 put into these videos. Thanks from the bottom of my heart ❤️

Excellent, comprehensive review, at usual! One question abt lite though. Some reviewers (Eileen?) mentioned that JR lightened up the rooting--mixed it with more blond--in Julianne lite, specifically 12 fs8. Your take on this? It would be a GREAT feature, even for the brunette shades like Almondine and Eclair. Also, a request: I'd love to see your review on Julianne's grays and white! Thanks!

I tried the Carrie Lite and the cap was too big on my petite head, where the ear tabs were digging in my ears, kinda painful and the ear tabs kept lifting up. I hope they come up with a smaller cap... maybe I'll give it another go when they do.

The new cap looks great, but the old one has better hair IMO. I was wearing full lace and glue for about a year and had an outbreak of cystic acne under the glue in the hot weather, so I would be extremely careful if you have sensitive skin. But, that new cap is the bees knees.

I LOVE the no permatease look! This is totally beautiful on you with your small face. And it would be pretty on a fuller face, too. The original Julianne is pretty too, not as casual or realistic, imo. I just bought JR Clair, but I do believe Julianne Lite is next!

Hi Taz, it's Helen (from UK) here again not Keith (using his phone again!) This wig looks sooo pretty on you. I've still to order my first wig. My head circumference is 21 3/4 inches. Would you say I'd get bagging at the top with this wig. I have some hair so I'd be able to put it in a little bunch at the back. Also, would I get away with not sticking the ear tabs down if I just pull some hair down when wearing up? Are the knots finer than other Jon Renau wigs? I ordered the 'Haute' wig last year and the knots put me off in addition to the wig being too thick. Also, how do you hide your dark hair to make the parting look like scalp? Would a wig cap work? Thank you so much for your videos. I've been watching loads lately, due to not going out because of my hair loss and other health problems. You are a godsend! Xoxo

Hello and thank you so much for your kind comments Helen! I cannot give advice on fit as we are all so different.. I don't sense any baggy cap and my circumference is a little smaller compared to yours. The monofilment at the part usually gives the look of natural scalp even if you have darker hair underneath. Thanks Taz! Question for you: some women are saying that the lace front is wider and perhaps a tad too much along the forehead. It’s definitely wider than the non-lite version, and some are suggesting trimming it along the hairline. What’s your perspective? Does the wider lace look as natural?? Also, I always pull out my bio hair around the side of the cap above the ears. I probably wouldn’t be able to do that with the lace going to the ear tabs , right? Thanks for all you do!! 😘

Hello! First, I do agree it would be challenging to use your bio hair around the lace features. The lace front extends beyond forehead and temples, back to and around the ear, so definitely much wider than the original Julianne. It exposes areas beyond the temple that would normally be covered by the cap and wig fiber, so this may be what some are noticing... These lace fronts are ready to wear right out of the box, but you can definitely trim them with some pinking shears. I would recommend the original Julianne for someone that used their bio hair around the temple and eartabs:-) The ear to ear lace front would not be a suitable feature in that case:-) I do hope this helps! XOXO

Do I need to tighten her if the lace is in the right spot on my hairline but lifted/gapped from my scalp or do I need to use the glue? I'm scared it will slowly slide backwards if I set it higher.

Yes, big difference in volume.. the lite has less fiber and each fiber is a very fine texture. Not much volume at all on the lite.. but really nice volume on the regular. Hope this helps XOXO

WHY has JR taken the time to add all of the beautiful features but didn’t add the light hairs all the way to the lace front??? Also, I haven’t heard anything from anyone about the lace in the back of the Lite version. Wish I could see someone actually show the back of LITE version and how it looks once in an updo after being adhered, or even a little educational video on how to adhere it. I love educational videos. You regularly do those, and I’m thankful. Please consider the things some of us might not know. I feel like that was a missed opportunity.

I rarely find that shine is a problem for me personally... there are so many things than can be done to tamp shine. Lots of ladies buy products to make their own hair super shiny. As long as the wig color has lots of dimension to it, I don't mind the shine:-) XOXO

It’s a lovely look but as soon as you pulled the hair up and the lace ear tab lifted and you said it would have to be secured with tape I thought - nope - can’t be bothered. One of the things I love about wigs is how quickly I can do my hair!! Also I love light hair around the lace front - something Jon Renau doesn’t do - I wish they did!! So I think the lite might be a no for me. Thank you so much for your honest review!! I am coming back to RW Editirs Pick I think every time!!
