Great video on new rooted shades; however, the rooting looks very dark. Does this seem to be the case? Loved shadow shade rooting....now I find myself loving the wig color but the rooting color is not me. Wonderful, helpful review as always.

Thanks for the comments! The studio lighting will deepen shadows, therefore making rooting appear a bit darker, however, these roots are very dark in person.. best to view them in outdoor light for true effect:-) XOXO

I'm with you, I'm a "dishwater blonde" in my actual hair color but I always had highlights which looked good with my darker "lowlights". The dark roots are way too harsh for me and in my opinion take away from the blonde shades. I also like the more shadow shades which is exactly what my hair looked like growing out. I'm sorry to say but these rooted colors are a "miss" with me. Could have easily been a "hit" but they just went way too dark and over the top with the dark roots, for my taste. By the way Taz I LOVE the short blonde style at the beginning! Adorable, so youthful and beautiful on you!

I was just scrolling wig color reviews when this popped up. I literally shouted (to no one) "OMG. they finally did it!" You and I had a brief discussion in comments over a year ago of wishing Envy would update their blondes especially adding roots to Light Blonde. I emailed them a letter that week praising their styles and fibers but politely requesting some new color choices especially in blondes. No reply came but I really wasn't expecting one. Now I know my little letter wasn't the reason they've added all these colors as I'm sure they are watchful of the industry trends but I AM OVER THE MOON about this!! I can tell you are also excited and girl you did a bang up job with this review! That you even took the time to relate the colors with other brands' colors was exceptional! So thank you, thank you for your hard work and care for us...you are the best! 🥰💕

What a fantastic comparison video! This helps more than you know. I haven't tried Envy wigs yet, but I love Dakota. From what I see, it appears the roots are fairly dark around the face, compared to some other brands, especially around the face. It's less apparent with the darker blondes. My preferred color is JR 12FS12, so your opinions on Champagne Shadow and Sahara Blonde is super helpful. Would you say that Sahara blonde is more like JR Shaded Praline? I think that you can wear all of them very well, I like you best in the Champagne Blonde or the whiter blondes on the left side. For me, my coloring is more warm - I think I would do best in either Sahara Blonde or Golden Sandstone... possibly Butterscotch Shadow or the Champaign Blonde. I could not pull off the platinum and whiter blondes on the left side that well without a tan or wearing different makeup foundation.

This was a lot of work, speaking from experience! My favorite is Golden Sandstone, but I think the name is a bit misleading. It definitely is more neutral than golden, IMO, sort of what you said yourself. The rooting comes off less stark on that color, from what I can see, though I wish they'd brought just a few of the lighter fibers up to the lace front. Dakota was always my favorite Envy style. I've owned three of them. I'm glad to see brands adding new colors this year. ~Cynthia

Wow!! Im torn but leaning towards the shaded champagne, I prefer the one lighter than that more I think but the starters deters me a bit,. I don't think it would if they would have maybe gone every other or so, with the highlights, it just makes it look SO much softer and more natural for me personally. I can't even imagine the amount of work that went into that Taz! I truly appreciate your work. You color comparisons, side by sides, description are top notch! I can't tell you how much it has helped me and IM truly so thankful! Im excited to see the other colors, every once in a while a beautiful dynamic rich red or even occasionally, a brunette is something I love to have fun with, even though IM a blonde at heart! I meant to ask, do you feel there's some subtle changes with Dakota recently? All of them looked a bit different, improved from my older one. They gave me a Belle Tress Dalgona 16 vibe, which I like. The style I like the look of best is the short style you’re wearing at first - suits you beautifully. Personally, as I’ve reached my decrepitude, the contrast between a rooted colour and a beautiful blonde are no longer “believable” on me. Great though, if they suit you. Keep up the good work. I really want to love these but I just can't...the dark roots are so stark looking and have such a heavy knot banding in the front. I just know it would drive me crazy. I'd be plucking all day long. I wish they would make adjustments like some of the other manufacturers. At least do a lighter color for the roots. Thank you for all your hard work Taz! Since Jon Renau's 24BT18S8 and BT BrownSugarSweetCream are my fave colors, I like the Envy Golden Sandstone the best. Hard to tell in the video, but is the root more of a level 4 or level 8 brown? Also at the end, did you put your camera on a fish-eye effect? I like that!

What a shame Envy didn’t run the light colors to the hairline in front! The 2d and 3D colors are to die for, but that dark rooting all the way across is a deal killer for me☹️

These new colors are so pretty and I absolutely love Sandstone but Envy should have put some highlights near the front hairline because those dark roots are brutal. What a shame!

Great review. Now I know not to waste my money. While the colors are quite beautiful, the rooting is extremely dark and from the front it appears like a dark headband is on. Not a good look in my opinion. Thank you so very much. 💓

I live for a pale blonde with a dark root...BUT....for the first 3.. honestly think the rooting is way too harsh. Those roots needed some color blending to soften it up
