I know if if it says normal its normal.. abnormal is abnormal. would be nice if you discussed the range , normal/ abnormal values of ifn gamma levels , nil tube, ag tube .

If the patient has been recently cured from Pulmonary TB after taking 6-months of medication, is there a chance to get a POSITIVE result? For example, medication was done April 1-October 8, 2024 and the sputum test taken on September returned Negative.

Hi, If a person with HIV +ve status has been taking pyridoxine and and isoniazid for TB prevention, would the medication affect this QFT test results? And QFT test itself would not detect HIV virus right? 🙂

The QFT test is not used to check for HIV. Why dont health care providers/employeers require tb blood test at the beginning? Why TB skin test, then x-ray or blood test (if induration)?

Good question! The TB skin test has been the gold standard for screening for tuberculosis for many years. The TB blood test is a relatively new development and widespread adoption of it, despite its benefits, is only starting. As more providers and employers learn about it, we expect that it will become the gold standard.
