Excellent result on your cow.......always a big relief to have a clear test. some farms around are down with T.B for years on end and they just have to live with it. we get a bit of trouble with it now and again .......we lost 7 cows last year over 2 consecutive tests but were clear again now but got another test booked for early January

We are lucky in Iowa that we have been livestock TB free since 1986. We also vaccinate 100% of all of our livestock.

Great news Richard always stressful with this TB testing especially in a area where TB is pretty common ! Hopefully next year is a better year than 2022 for you all ! The inconclusive is always worrying and can be expensive with the added feed and inability to sell calves etc ! Luckly our dairy farm is in a low risk area for TB , but it s always a sleepless night pre testing day !

Tb testing a pure money racket ! In Ireland we have to test every 6 months and tb has being never as bad !

That was good news news Richard, I have my herd tb test reading today, Friday, & I know it’s a big worry, over in a part of Northern Ireland, TB has gone crazy, there are some very large herds going down with huge reactor numbers, 1 herd gone down with 260 cows, another neighbour 97 cows, It’s not 2 or 4 cows, it’s 20 - 40 Vets say over here that Vaccination , they say isn’t the answer , as then it would be in the food chain. It’s crazy..

Great relief, I fully agree we are wasting our time resting and only solution is to vaccinate the cattle. Here in the west of Ireland how we talk about the test is up for heaven ( good to see a larger lump on the top) and down for hell ( if lump on bottom is bigger then your in trouble). I'd agree with advice to cull cow but be careful when you decide to part with her as they will do a gland biopsy at the factory, so only send her in when you're best prepared with livestock already sold or bought in case of bad news and you get locked up. With the calf's (lovely stock) maybe I'm wrong because of the light in the shed but it looked to me that kojack has ringworm, which means that the shed will need to be disinfected before any new calfs go in. Sounds strange but we find if a few branches of holly are Hung up over the pins it's good to keep ringworm away.

If it's near calving you can induce it. Otherwise unfortunately the calf will die with the mother when she's culled. Sad
