The best way to make "deposits" is to raise your children with love, instilling moral values and a care and respect for one another. This starts at home! Remembering the old proverb: "Train up a child in the way he should go teaching him to seek God's wisdom and will for his abilities and talents. Even when he is old he will not depart from it." These are the things that carry/spill over from generation to generation. In as much as it "takes a village", you can't be all things to all people! There are ever-changing outside enfluences (satan), that impact each generation socially, politically, and economically. This comes with every generation. I believe with modern society we have fallen away from important traditional norms or values. I think you're painting the baby boomers with too wide a brush. This topic is extrememely convoluted!

You spoke of the external economic forces. When you talked about deposits for your children, you talked about intangible things like morals and values. Not once did you talk about depositing into your children’s bank account. You’re doing what a lot of these boomers do which is to divert some sort of religious piety telling the younger generation they should not question you because somehow your instructions and visions are an edict from God. We are hip to that game.

As soon as they had a chance to move around those folks, marry them they didn't skip a beat. Now trying to tell the younger generation what "they need to do".These are the same people that were laughing at Claude Anderson when he said we would be fighting against "other" groups. Apologize for what? The boomer generation mounted the greatest resistance to white supremacy on record and if you truly knew the history of boomers you would know that You are drinking Jason’s kool aid I ain’t apologizing for being under the scrutiny of the same white supremacy as the other generations. It was boomers that produced the Angela Davis’s H Rapp Brown’s Fred Hampton’s Huey P Newton’s Bobby Seal’s and George Jackson’ s Eldridge Cleaver who Jason has as his thumbnail and women like Kathleen Cleaver Elaine Brown Asata and Afeni Shakur along with the boomer youth that damn near bought this country to it’s knees with our resistance such as rioting burning down establishments shooting at and getting physical with law enforcement and because y’all don’t know this history about boomers Jason can run this lame as narrative about boomers. Food for thought. Calculating Jason’s age tells me his parents were baby boomers are they in the category of the old do nothing drop the ball niggas he so ferociously condemns. I say no because like me they were under the same evil vileness of a system called white supremacy just like you and me besides at sixty one I’m not even sure you qualify as a true boomer and if you are you barely made the cut. Do you clearly remember the day Dr King was murdered and how it affected the country? If you don’t then you’re closer to Jason’s generation and that’s how come he can sell y’all on that trash and stop with the Stomp on our neck foolishness because we have enough crosses and guilt to bear that this system has put on us. Instead of you encouraging Jason to call us out you should be calling him out for pushing this nonsense because he knows it’s a false narrative and you should know it is but I don’t hold it against you because some of us were in the mist of the madness and some we’re not just like my dad would let me sell the Black Panther newspaper but under no circumstances could I be a member of the party he just wasn’t having it so I had to do what he said or get kicked in the behind.

I'm 39 I don't completely dismiss the Boomer generation. But one thing for sure is they don't like to hear about how they spent the 70s, ESPECIALLY the 80s and 90s partying and dropped the ball. I'm married with 1 child, some of the elders frown on me because i say "I'm not bringing in children i can't take care of". Example: My mother in law doesn't even care to have a conversation with my 9 year old because it's all about "I'm 72, I did what i had to do already". But she demands the most respect from the grand baby, it's unbelievable how selfish she is.

She has an individualistic mindset; therefore, she forfeited her right to criticize the younger generations. Jason Black represents people who take a collectivistic approach regarding the black community. (characteristics like being self-sacrificing, dependable, generous, and helpful to others are of greater importance.)

I love the way you put that. They usually are the ones that say " this generation is lost" well with elders who think like this I see why. She don't think she adds to a bigger problem.

The community is an example of the people that it consists of. Broken people equals a broken community. Charity begins at home and then spreads abroad. Self, Home and then Community. It’s too many broken people trying to lead others without leading themselves. You have to be self sufficient and whole first, then take care of home and then take care of your community. People have it easier today because of the hardships that our older generations endured.

This woman, like the majority of the baby boomer generation, looked out for herself and didn't put any thought into the next generations after hers. They reaped every benefit that was offered to them, hogged every inheritance there was to inherit, and left the younger generations with nothing. Not even a skill that we could prosper from. And they'll have the nerve to look down on us and wag their finger when we fail to prosper, while also refusing to acknowledge how they failed us first.

She did what she could. Everybody cannot be a warrior. Just like everyone in church cannot be the preacher for an example. A father cannot be replaced and neither can a mother. He forgets to also say. Everyone isn't a King or an X and they both had many helpers and many who were just on code. Example boycotting the bus. They took care of their families yet when they could they pitched in example opening their home for freedom riders to stay over and even the task of voting when asked.

his bigger point was to not be so critical of the young folk if the most you did was worry about "me, mine, I''..,thats more than fair. unless you can talk about the numerous sacrafices you made outside of "me, mine, I", which is what he was trying to get from her, then dont speak on the young folk issues..fair is fair

@@ljgil850 most people don't have spear change unless they go to work for themselves. Needles to say you don't need to tear someone down and belittle them. I'm sure that she just didn't come out of no where. She is one of us. She also is a part of the collective energy, in whatever capacity we all may be. "All hands on deck". Little hands and big hands. From 1 cent to the highest dollar.

I am a 66 year old black woman, and subscribe to many of your teachings, otherwise, I wouldn't follow your channel. I don't drink, don't smoke, don't take any medications, I walk 2 miles a day, I meditate, and I speak French fluently. I have 3 adult children, the youngest has a disability, and takes up a lot of my time even now. But, I've raised my kids to be productive members of society. I think my obligation as a parent, was to raise my children, and if all parents raised their children as such, they wouldn't need society to raise them. I have 3 grandchildren, 2 who are now adults, and in general, their generation, is one of the most selfish, I've ever seen. I also think that my generation, I am a baby boomer, is not really welcomed on your channel. A lot of the things you say about my generation are true, but not for all of us. I still believe in your fight for Black rights, and still wish you the best.
