Germany's pro Israel stance has its roots in a history the Western world will simply not allow it to move on from. So, had they expressed any criticism against Israel, this current cry of "Anti-Semitism" levelled at any other when expressing outrage at this genocide, would have been tenfold. So. Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

The reaction of the German government is understandable once you look at the interests of German imperialism. This is entirely missing from the discussion in the video. Instead Pappe insinuates that the German government is just reflecting the outlook of the German people when that is the ideological cover for the actions of the German ruling class. It should be noted that In the 1990s the German government insisted Germany’s experience of the Nazi regime mean it “had” to intervene in the Balkans. It was German recognition of Slovenia the accelerate the disintegration of Yugoslavia as the European powers pursued their own interests. Germany has tripled its military budget since 2022 and the U.S. bombing of the Nord Stream II pipeline shows it must, once again, fight for its “place in the sun”, especially against U.S. imperialism. The only social force that can stop this is the international working class. It is as simple and as complex as that. I recommend the following. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKe8lZpnat6or9U

Here are some more quotes: Matti Peled (IDF Maj-General retired): “Anyone who said occupation corrupts was absolutely right. We are occupying the West Bank and the Gaza Street for the last 25 years. This is corrupting us. Maybe even more than the American Aid … In any case this is one of the most damaging gifts that we get from the United States.” Miko Peled (son of Matti Peled): “The Israeli doctors who signed the petition authorizing the bombing of GAZA hospitals must be condemned. But condemning an oppressed nation [the Palestinians] for resisting is the height of hypocrisy and makes no sense.” Moshe Dayan: “There is not a single place built in this country that did not have a former Arab population.” Moshe Dayan: “What cause have we to complain abut their fierce hatred of us? For eight years now, they sit in their refugee camps in Gaza, and before their eyes we turn into our homestead the land and villages in which their forefathers have lived.” Moshe Dayan: “Before [the Palestinians] very eyes we are possessing the land and the villages where their ancestors have lived. We are the generation of colonizers and without the steel helmet, and the gun barrel, we cannot plant a tree and build a house.” Howard Zinn: “To be hopeful in bad times is not just foolishly romantic. It is based on the fact that human history is a history not only of cruelty, but also of compassion, sacrifice, courage, kindness. What we choose to emphasize in this complex history will determine our lives. If we see only the worst, it destroys our capacity to do something. If we remember those times and places-and there are so many-where people have behaved magnificently, this gives us the energy to act, and at least the possibility of sending this spinning top of a world in a different direction. And if we do act, in however small a way, we don’t have to wait for some grand utopian future. The future is an infinite succession of presents, and to live now as we think human beings should live, in defiance of all that is bad around us, is itself a marvellous victory.” Norman Finkelstein: “The biggest insult to the memory of the holocaust is not denying it but using it as an excuse to commit genocide against the Palestinian people.” Israel Shahak (Israeli historian, Holocaust survivor): “The Nazis made me afraid of being Jewish and the Zionists made me ashamed of being Jewish.” Albert Einstein: "The most important aspect of our policy must be our ever-present, manifest desire to institute complete equality for the Arab citizens living in our midst … The attitude we adopt toward the Arab minority will provide the real test of our moral standards as a people. … What saddens me is less the fact that the Jews are not smart enough to understand this, but rather, that they are just not smart enough to want it.” Albert Einstein: “If I were to remain silent, I’d be guilty of complicity.”

Ireland 🇮🇪 stands with Palestine ❤ We have a similar history of invasion, colonisation and partitioning + Famine (of the gen0cidal kind)
@dmurphy32028 ай бұрын
Ireland 🇮🇪 understands the Palestinian cause. The Brits having brutalised our land and people both metaphorically and literally is why we wanted to exit a union we NEVER wanted to be part of.. Britain oversaw the genocidal Famine by actively exporting our other food sources letting us starve, die and flee. Now having read the above... that is why we have always fought, resisted and never bent knee to British rule. Do Brits think we fought British rule for centuries for the laugh of it or something? When people fight, they fight for a good reason and when a nation fights it's because something was taken away from them! After the Norman/Anglo Invasion of Ireland in the 1100s, we then had Planters arrive as per The Plantations in 16th- and 17th-century which involved the confiscation of Irish-owned land by the English Crown and the colonisation of land with settlers from Britain. We fought back: 1. The two Desmond Rebellions took place in 1569-1573 and 1579-1583 to *fight against the threat of the extension of the English government* over the province. 2. The successful Battle of Clontibret was *fought against the British* in County Monaghan in 1595. 3. The successful Battle of the Yellow Ford was *fought against the British* in County Armagh in 1598. 4. The Nine Years' War, sometimes called Tyrone's Rebellion took place in Ireland from 1593 to 1603. It was fought between an Irish alliance to *fight against English rule in Ireland.* 5. The Rebellion of 1641 took place when Irish Catholics were being threatened by expansion of the anti-Catholic English Parliament and Scottish Planters and they *rebelled against English and Protestant domination.* 6. The Irish Rebellion of 1798 was a major uprising *against British rule in Ireland.* (The Society of United Irishmen was led primarily by liberal Protestants). The Irish wanted an end to anti-Catholic discrimination, greater Irish self-governance, and to roll back the Plantations of Ireland. 7. The Irish rebellion of 1803 was launched by Irish republicans *against British rule in Ireland* 8. The Young Irelander Rebellion was an Irish nationalist uprising led by the Young Ireland movement, part of the wider Revolutions of 1848. 9. The Fenian Rising of 1867 was a rebellion *against British rule in Ireland*, organised by the Irish Republican Brotherhood. 10. The Easter Rising of 1916 was piloted by Irish republicans *against British rule in Ireland* with the aim of establishing an independent Irish Republic. 11. The civil rights movement in the early 1960s challenged the inequality and discrimination against ethnic Irish Catholics that was perpetrated by the Ulster Protestant community. 12. Derry activists' marched on the 5 October 1968 in Derry, but were attacked by the RUC and loyalists. THAT IS A SNAPSHOT OF HOW WE HAVE FOUGHT AND RESISTED BOTH BRITISH RULE AND DISCRIMINATION BY THE UNIONIST COMMUNITY.

Professor Ilan Pappe is a legendary, highly respected, and gifted ante-zionist Jewish Historian with encyclopedic knowledge about the 1947_1948 Palestinian people's Nakba caused by the zionist terrorist groups who have conducted several hundreds of massacres against innocent civilian Palestinians and the creation of Israel.It is a pity that the same plight in the form of genocide and ethnic cleansing is recurring in Gaza nowadays. Professor Pappe very much deserves the huge respect of the Palestinian people for his great courage in saying the truth, that the real victims in this region are the Palestinians(occupied) and not the Israelis (occupiers).I hope that a just and peaceful solution can be reached in the future where both Palestinian people(Moslems and Christians)can live peacefully with the Jewish people in this part of the world.

All that matters is how to fix it, or what are we all doing other than thoughts and prayers? We must *Demand* Govt by People's Referenda: By Peaceful Occupation of our Capitals until it's installed, or run Mascot Candidates Single Issue Referendums with thresholds and a social contract means Communities can vote their own laws. A Public Authority can audit police and prosecute bad cops in our own courts. Nationalise resources and give Indigenous peoples the right of Sovereignty over them as Guardians. This can be achieved through a General Strike or Velvet Revolution, much like the Occupy movement, peacefully occupying State Buildings until a People's Mandate can be implemented. With the appropriate checks and balances, you could have a national digital forum where qualified professionals can debate the issues in a public setting without all the disinformation and bad faith antics, hatespeech etc. Any vote would need to pass the 70% threshold, with a veto or _rewrite_ vote needing 30%. The issues would be debated, the public educated, and then a vote taken. Votes that fail will have to wait a year before trying again. Any new proposal (Citizen Initiated Referendum) would have to reach a threshold of support before it made it onto the register. This would be subject to a Social Contract (New Constitution) that forbids human rights abuses and discrimination. That can be written in the same manner based on the core principles we all share. Councils and Boards could operate in the same fashion at Scale. It works in a way that obligates people to better educate themselves ( that is to use logic and evidence in their reasoning ) for a better understanding of the issues, and then take collective responsibility for the outcomes. As opposed to the divisive US v them scapegoating and bi-partisan finger pointing the current Capitalist Pyramid Scheme runs on. We need Government by People's Referenda, either through Mascot Candidates or Peaceful Occupation of the Capitals until one is established. Make it an annual March on Oct 14.

This has been going on for centuries. It's just now as we are entering the Age of Aquarius, everything is there for all to see. A lot was hidden and we always got bits and pieces with a lot of manipulation of history. Today, we can no longer hide both good and bad. But it is important to point out the negative that has been pushed under the carpet for so-o-o long. Palestinians have paid extremely heavily from what the zionists have done to them; in fact a lot of what the zionists have done have been blamed on the Palestinians. What goes around, comes around! Karma does exist. There is so much proof of it. You kill someone uselessly, you will have to come back in another life to give your life to save that life you killed in a previous incarnation. No one gets away from that. So it looks like the zionists will be around for a long time.... but not as zionists or jews but some time as black, chinese, arab, etc.

Being close to Ilan Pappe's age, I understand and agree with him in regards to change being in the hands of young people. My generation pretty much bought into our US government's presentation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict via mainstream news media. I personally didn't entirely accept this because I had been directed to books that contradicted the official narrative. But, I never imagined the level of atrocities being committed by Israel that I've been viewing in real time since October 7. I can only hope that people who care about humanity will continue to protest this horrible injustice that's still being carried out with the support of the US and other Western powers. Long live Palestine! 🇵🇸❤🙏

I was born in 1952 most probably a year before Iilan. I got into this issue by accident. I had been given a new Galaxy ipad for my fifty year birthday by my sons. Being a natural curious man I started asking questions on KZbin and online. My inquiry was about the Federal reserve controversy, and the name Eustace Mullins came up. This led to his meeting with the American poet Ezra Pound, then Mullins started talking of the pushback he recieved from Jewish groups when he attempted to gain information on how and who set up the Federal reserve system. From that point I started asking questions about how jews in America became so powerful in politics etc. That was twenty years ago. What a journey it has been. If only the majority of Americans were half as curious as I am , the Zionists in America would have a much tougher gime controlling and manipulating our politicians.

As a Palestinian American, the most vital support we can have in this struggle is that of our fellow Jewish brothers and sisters who put humanity above all, first & foremost regardless of ethnicity or skin color. Ilan Pappé, Miko Peled, The entire Maté family of Gabor, Aaron & Daniel, Max Blumenthal, Katie Halper, Nora Barrows-Friedman, Dan Cohen, Medea Benjamin, Keaton Weiss/Russell Dobular & Norman Finkelstein, just to name a few for starters. I thank you all. (If Abby Martin is Jewish, she’s right near the top of the list but I don’t know her ethnicity. Their solidarity is not bad, but I just heard a good argument the other day for not essentializing Jewish voices in the Palestinian struggle. Basically, doing so advances the notion that being Jewish gives someone a special moral right /obligation to opine on "Israel". I know this isn't where the people you mentioned above are coming from at all, of course, but it's defo not crazy to conceive of Palestinian voices being passed over by MSM outlets to have on amti-Zionist Jews instead, especially because Zionists prefer to abuse them over a "racial minority" (READ: _Aravim_ ) when in the ("Western") public eye. I'll be damned if I can remember who advanced this, but...they might well have been on EI!

P.S. "Jewish" is not an ethnicity. It's a religion. Are people from Spain, Iraq and Ukraine all the same ethnicity?
