Only a few years ago c-store ships had two seats of the same specialization and there were even legandaries like that. I dare call the Typhoon a premium event ship. If deca keeps this up STO is in a far better place than it's ever been.

I've been saying they need to take a look at "repackaging" some C store ships, to add a second spec seat. like adding pilot maneuver's to the T'liss line of warbirds.

It’s a free ship. Having some decent stats and seating is a bonus. It looks like it will be a good budget build ship for F2P players or those on a tight budget. Overall I’m quite surprised by it. It’s better than a lot of recent ships added to the game, including the next crap ship from LD. This is hopefully a good sign of the way things may go in the future

-Looks good. -Cool name. -5/3 temporal command and engineering. -Free. I´ve never felt better since the Cnidarian defender and the tri fluoride torp we got for free. Edit: Ok some of the other stuff we got was also cool, the temer raider and carrier, the sommerville, gagarin...etc. But this one will be very nice!

I still hate the limitations on the ships crew slots. Each crew spot should be a minimum of 3 slots. You use expertise to level crew all up, but they are hindered by ship slots??? Makes zero sense to learn all the manuals when they are mostly useless.

This ship could have had great potential, if only the command spec was in the Lt commander sci seat instead. might as well not have a secondary spec seat.

hopefully the console will be good enough for a proton (themed) build if we ever get those proton weapons we expected in the next lockbox, and the trait might be great for torp builds but even if its good torps need a lot more than that, such as having more than 1 ship in the game that can do both CFIII and have a 0.5 shared cooldown. the ship itself is meh but the trait/console might be something very useful in the future even if only for themed builds.

Looks like a fun and, importantly for an event ship, versatile setup. Engineering + Specialization (any) seems to be a good combo, use Spec abilities in slots where there are no good Engineering abilities. They really need to rework Engineering. I wonder if the trait will fire extra charges when the Lorca 3-piece procs. From a visual perspective, while honoring its original form, the ship seems like a battlecruiser from the Intrepid-Nova-Vesta family of ship designs. That is very much a good thing aesthetically!

I like the Kirk visually but find it simple in its abilities. I might find more function with this Typhoon over the Kirk, but then again I gave my Kirk to a Klingon. This is looking good for a free-earnable ship. I'm iffy on the console too, but the trait sounds complimentary for a torp build. Thanks for the brief review.

If this is the kind of ship we get for event rewards under Deca, Maybe STO is finally trying to distance themselves from being seen as greedy holding all the good stuff in the Lockboxes. Something I will always maintain should NOT be allowed in a game who's rating includes underaged players. Gambling is an addiction for a lot of people and that should not be allowed to be exploited for profit

i would like to see an exotic particle build with this I think that's what they wanted with this seating with a grav well 1 aoe temp commander ability for lots of entropy and coordinated bombing for the command seating. also, I would like to see this trait in torpedo build since the wording on it is a little weird.

Looks rather decent. Very solid ship for F2P players no doubt. I'll stay with the Atlantis for a temp DEWSCI ship though. Trait & console could prove quite useful for torp builds.

I was very close, to acquiring this ship but, I wound up in the hospital, having cervical surgery on my neck. ( They removed one of the vertebrae from my neck!) I still wish I could get the Typhoon through the 'buyout' option. I was within 2800 'zen' of adding the Typhoon to my starship roster. 😅 Please, tell me who would I need to talk to, to see if I could still get the Typhoon. Thanking you in advance.

I'm willing to bet that their metrics show more usage of FAW3 and TS3 than the specialty firing modes, even on ships that can make full use of them. Also, can't have the free ship being TOO good.
