As a Japanese, I’m so surprised that so many people are studying our language!!! (I know it’s so difficult to learn and to be able to speak, even as a native speaker) And thanks Tanya for sharing such an amazing video! I would really like to watch your other videos to know the tips of language studies💕

japanese language is very fascinating english is my second language and grammatically very similar to my first (russian), but still i think a bit different knowing english! i wanna try to think in japanese because i can gain a new perspective just by knowing a language thats very different from mine. also learning languages is hard but very satisfying!

I am from Togo (west of Africa) and I finally started learning Japanese during the pandemic after years of watching anime and playing Final Fantasy games. The pronunciation is of Japanese "easy" to me because I already speak French so all the sounds are known to my brain except for らりるれろ. I have always been fascinated by Japanese culture and language. I hope to visit sometime next year 🤗

I think it's true for a lot of languages that even native speakers can have some problem with their own language. and I think it's good to know about it and don't expect too much from yourself. because unrealistic expectations can ruin it your motivation and discouraged you a lot. so thank you!

I love Irodori!! As someone who isn't living in Japan (or planning to), I don't find all of the topics 100% relevant to me, but it's still an incredibly rich resource, and I personally prefer it to Genki in both visual design and content structure. That plus the online practice exercises are great for self-studying. It's definitely one of the best free resources I've seen, and I feel like I never see anyone talking about it. It'd be nice if they expanded to more than just beginner levels.

I love the yomichan extension for chrome. You download whatever dictionaries (depending on your native language some may be available in said language), if you have multiple dictionaries set the priority, then when you are browsing a page with Japanese text, hover over and press whatever key you set (default shift but you can change that) and it has a popup with suggested dictionary entries for your word and you can listen, integrate with anki etc

I found your channel recently and I gotta say, I used to do Japanese but that was a very long time ago and I didn't know what I was doing so I quit I plan on returning to it someday once I'm up to speed on my other languages, so when that happens I'll definetly use these and the resources I already own, I'm currently studying Chinese so Kanji won't be as big of an issue but for everything else that seems really helpful. Now if I could find my old copy of Minna no Nihongo...

I think my comment got deleted because it came across as spam, but I just wanted to share info about a Japanese learning app that a lot of people don’t seem to know about. Renshuu has helped me quite a bit, and maybe it can help others, especially since many of its features aren’t behind a paywall. It’s been hard for me to stay motivated for the past year, and your videos are helping me to be kinder to myself about it. They’re also getting me to try different ways of of approaching language study. So thank you for making such honest videos on this subject.

After your video I was looking for a digital version of Graded Readers for my pad and yea while it is possible to get it digitally it is not so convenient as the pdf-like format requires a license, a special app, an address in Japan and a credit card, but after setting all the stuff up I was able to get the Graded Readers books you've shown digitally without waiting and also less pricey as I've paid for the Lvl. 0 Sakura 桜 you've shown at 0:51 ¥580 which is about 4$ to get a first taste on it without paying a premium in advance in case I don't like - so overall for all 6 Lvl. 0 vol.1 books it'd be 24$ and instant access over 31$ on Amazon with waiting time :P
