That escalator ride was almost 2.50 minutes. The construction in front of this station has been going on for a long time. When I was there I was trying to look for an entrance board or gate like the other metro stations have haha. Can't wait to visit Tbilisi during NYE soon.

Yes, you can easily pay with a credit card at any turnstile, including using a card on your phone. Or you can buy a transportation card called MetroMoney at the metro ticket office, which can also be used for buses and cable cars.
