A very gloomy and very windy day did not present the most ideal conditions to shoot video for my first trip to Willow Creek Junction but I was satisfied with the amount of traffic through here. Everything was going well until a Portage cop told me I was parked too close to the tracks and had to move to the parking lot further south of the junction but by that time I was ready to leave anyway. All trains in this video were shot between 12:30-3:30pm:
1. CSX 542 & 516 (AC44CW's)- Westbound unit coal train
2. UP 7900, 7678 (ES44AC's), 4990 (SD70M)- short eastbound reefer train
3. NS 8900 & 8893 (C40-9W's)- eastbound manifest on the CSX Porter Branch crosses the CSX Barr Sub and will eventually connect with the NS mainline at Porter.
4. CSX 5414 (ES44DC), 8404 (SD40-2) & 8742 (SD60I)- eastbound manifest with some old school power tucked in the middle. 8404 was built in 1966 for C&O as an SD40.
5. BNSF 7279 (ES44DC) & 4026 (C44-9W)- eastbound intermodal with foreign power
6. CSX 382 (AC44CW), CITX 2804 (SD40-2), CSX 4550 (SD70MAC) & CREX 9057 (C40-8)- Interesting lashup on this eastbound stack train
7. CSX 7588 (C40-8) & 9042 (C44-9W)- eastbound mixed freight
8. CSX 8721 (SD60) & 8549 (SD50)- one of a few elephant style lashups today on this westbound manifest.
9. CSX 4522 (SD70MAC) & 377 (AC44CW) - westbound with coal empties
10. CSX 5247 & 5403 (ES44DC's)- last train of the day is an eastbound stacker.
