Great video! Big fan of the TBM series now, but mainly fly the 930 in Microsoft Flight Simulator. Very helpful to see pattern work so I know what to do!

And of course little pit of history Mooney was a partner with Socata in the early development of the TBM but later pulled out...but the M remained in TBM which still stands for Mooney!

Refreshing to see you flying the airplane instead of Otto Pilot. The 3 camera set up worked well, enjoyed seeing the approach to 17L, as a non-current ppl and Austin native.

Mike - I also did the same exact moved and moved from Palo Alto to Austin. It would be great to catch up and meet one of these days. I am a fairly new pilot (IFR w/500hrs) flying SR22’s.

That was awesome. I’m in love with that TBM. It’s inspiring me to return back and complete my privet pilot license. Recommendation to keep one camera with the middle screen to see all that is happening with the engine and map at the same time that you are flying. Thanks for the video.

@22:10 a selector on the front of the throttle quadrant switched left to right. Is that fuel? How does that work? Is it preprogrammed?
@tbm910guy83 жыл бұрын
good eye! yes - the TBM 910 has an auto fuel selector....it switches fuel tanks automatically every 10min when in flight. Very convenient.

That looks like such an awesome aircraft. I also fly that aircraft but in a simulator as I'm not really a pilot. It's one of my favourite. Thanks

Why did you pull the engine before your first takeoff? What a mashine. Love this aircraft. Well done :-)
@tbm910guy83 жыл бұрын
The TBM requires an engine cycle (into low idle with prop feathered) after start up - it ensures proper lubrication. The check-list calls for 2x. I had already done it - but after a taxi-back I like to do it one more time.
@HarryPotter-wm3kf3 жыл бұрын
@@tbm910guy8 I understand that this cycles the prob governer for appropriate lubrication. Such as with a single engine piston...

So when you are in 1500 pattern altitude approximately how far are you from the Airport on downwind. I know for the smaller planes I use the strut in the Cessnas at 1000’ patterns. Thanks.
@tbm910guy83 жыл бұрын
I like to use the tip of my left wing (and maybe a little wider) as a good guide for downwind

So another question. I noticed TBMs. Don’t have a red beacon light. Is that right?
@tbm910guy83 жыл бұрын
@@scootermason2746 The TBM 900's exterior lighting consists of navigation lights, strobe lights, landing/taxi lights and recognition lights all mounted on each winglet. The strobe can be seen from all angles like a traditional beacon light.

What do you have for traffic awareness, are you relying only on ADSB? Thanks for posting, you’re in some of my old flying area over that direction.
@tbm910guy83 жыл бұрын
Yes - The aircraft has an onboard TAWS system as well as ADSB. I also have a back up ADSB on my iPad via ForeFlight.

Do you have any recommendations for flight schools in Austin ? Recently moved to Austin for work and have been wanting to get my privet pilot for awhile.
@tbm910guy83 жыл бұрын
best flight school in the Austin area is Genesis Aero at Georgetown Airport (KGTU). Great school and good general aviation airport for training.

I get a kick out of hearing, "We" vs. "I." I keep looking for the we.. Another funny thing is hearing you begin a sentence with the word, and. "And Tower, we are ready to taxi." Man, this is some good Bourbon. "And, we just subscribed."
