when browsing for books to read, i always look for book reviews. that is why i bring you an october TBR that quickly turned into a very chatty video about the books i want to read this month, me making a TBR jar and cart, and losing my mind over some of the new book releases of 2024. booktube and tiktok have buzzed about these books… let’s see if i’ll enjoy them! i hope you guys enjoy this one and come out with one more book to add to your TBR and some good book recommendations for 2024!

i loooooove the Plated Prisoner series! A good slow burn with actual good plot and is consistent throughout all 6 books!

Also book 1 doesn’t have any romance, you don’t meet the MMC until the very end of book 1. Book 1 is hard to read at times but if you love a book where our MFC goes through trauma and grows throughout the series into a strong badass bitch, you’ll love this series. 🦴

I do plan to read Hate List by Jennifer Brown as my main October read. I'll be reading the other books I have in my on-campus apartment, but Hate List is the main focus (other than ACOMAF and Clockwork Angel) for October. And Happy Birthday month🎉🎊!!

Your view on Halloween is the same as ours here in Sweden. Some people have fun with it, there are middle school discos with halloween theme etc, but it doesn't overflow the stores.

I still really want to read Kim Ji Young. I was living in Korea at the time this book started to get big, and I still remember reading all these articles about men in the country who were saying "I'd never date a woman who said she read this book." The trash basically took itself out.

You should really like spinning silver, but uprooted was a total dud for me. They’re about the same page count, but I felt like uprooted could’ve been shortened by 100 pages easily and still had the same storyline and not miss a thing. Spinning silver loved every moment.

I love the Plated Prisoner series, but it’s kinda dark (in the first book especially) and a huge slow burn. It’s pretty similar to ACOTAR in a few ways so I am very curious to see how you’ll feel about it, especially after book one. 🦴🦴
