when browsing for books to read, i always look for book reviews. that is why i bring you a september TBR that quickly turned into a very chatty video about the books i want to read this month, me making a TBR jar and cart for the first time, and losing my mind over some of the new book releases of 2023. booktube and tiktok have buzzed about these books… let’s see if i’ll enjoy them! i hope you guys enjoy this one and come out with one more book to add to your TBR and some good book recommendations for 2023!

I do have a very long tbr for this month. I edit it almost daily based on my mood and I’ve been doing this all year. It’s important to remind yourself that your tbr is a guide and is not permanent. You can change it up as you go ❤

It’s a way to keep the reading hobby incorporated at all hours of the day 😂 I love refreshing my TBR daily, making new shelves on GoodReads, rearranging based on my reading progress.

I use my TBR jar a bit differently. I usually choose a theme for the month. For example, I had Pride June, Sci-fi July, Literary August, etc. Then I choose about 10-15 books I'd like to read and add them to my TBR jar, and the jar decides which ones I'll read that month 😁

i'm a mood reader through-and-through - my biggest tip for avoiding reading slumps is always having a short story collection on the go. I basically read a book, do a short story, then pick up whatever I feel next. if i still can't decide i just keep reading short stories until my feelings catch up. 10/10 recommend, works every time.

I just recently jumped onto the band wagon of the TBR jar and I love it so far. My youngest son (6) loves to pick the prompts for me and his sister. I use this to get my library books and home TBR books read and so far its worked pretty good. The book I'm looing forward to reading is a buddy read of Hooked with my daughter this month.

I’m also a mood reader! I usually read whatever is due next at my library after taking out an excessive number of loans. But I’d love to get to Babel and Mexican Gothic this fall from my owned books. And I like the idea of a TBR jar vlog! 🫙

I do a star TBR jar for mine- which i pull 1-8 picks that are books I bought this year, and then picking one book from a prompt and one from a series so that way I can try and stay ahead of my TBR- though it doesn’t always work since I’m a pretty big mood reader. Good luck though- hopefully you can get through all of them!

I have two TBR jars currently😂 One that has all the titles of the unread books on my shelves. The second I recently made because there are so many books I want to read in the next few months that I was struggling to decide which one to pick up first, 🤣 I let the jar choose for me. Las frases en español me dan la vida jajajajaja Ok, so this idea came up to me when you were talking about the rest of the prompts that you couldn't include. What about a "second" jar filled with the rest of the prompts to have as some sort of backup? The backup jar for when you want to mix it up and renew the prompts you have on the main tbr jar. Or to use when you get a prompt that you've already done in the past, for example.

I tend to just make a list of books I want to read in the month, but it's gotten very out of hand lately 😂 it started with maybe 5-8 books on the list, and ended up with maybe 30 ish last month 🙈🙈 so September, I've forced myself to limit my list to 10 books, and I'm not pressuring myself to read this month either, since life is HECTIC at the moment

I think it would be good to focus more on completing the prompt than reading the books on the TBR. That way, you can still dnf, mood read, and still feel motivated to read whatever fulfills a challenge.
